STORYTIME: Misdiagnosed Miscarriage

I found out I was pregnant in February, had an ultrasound in March and was told that there was no heart beat. the doctor offered me 3 options. 1. have a d&c 2. take abortion pills 3. miscarry naturally at home I chose to miscarry at home because I've been through it 3 other times. well I never has cramping, never bled, nothing. my husband is a truck driver so he's gone often so I have no one to watch my kids so I can go to the doctor. a few months later I started feeling movement in my uterus. I finally got in to the hospital and I'm 25 to 30 weeks pregnant . with the same baby!

Meet The Chambers some doctors have no compassion. It's crazy how some can be. I'm glad I never took the options he gave me. I've had a hard time carrying a baby the last few years so to go 4 months thinking my baby had passed away, and then to feel large kicks randomly was crazy. your guy's story is so similar to how it was for me in the beginning. it's nice to know I'm not alone. :) I'm glad you guys got a second opinion to!

I was misdiagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy very early in my pregnancy. The doctor's said they are sure and I need to take medication to terminate the pregnancy because if it rupturs it can kill me. I refused the medication and prayed and had faith with my husband. A few weeks later I went to a different hospital and I had a healthy pregnancy. I'm currently in my second trimester with a healthy baby. God is good! I am happy you are having a healthy baby. It's sad some doctor's are so unprofessional, cold and just will not listen to reason. Kerry Marie exactly what im going through..went to the ER did blood test came out positive for pregnancy. did ultrasound cant see no sac..no nothing! so the doc said either im to early or the baby is not in the womb. but im praying to God..he has the last say so! thanks for sharing.

Kerry Marie going through this right now with my wife. HCG levels were higher than they expected but couldn't find a heartbeat at 6-7 weeks and said we had to terminate the pregnancy. We suggested getting a second opinion in a few days and the doctor was completely against it saying that he was positive it was a miscarriage. The issue I'm having is that the HCG levels are still increasing and I know for a fact the fetus isn't as old as he's saying. We are going to another facility in 5 days for a second opinion wish us luck.

Thank you so much for sharing your story!!! This was the first video I found doing my research to just see if I could have been misdiagnosed. I went for my first appointment last week and was told my baby didn’t have a heartbeat. I was devastated and have been crying for a week. No bleeding, cramping, or spotting. The doc saw a baby but no heartbeat. They did bloodwork and haven’t returned my calls. I was almost ready to just get the surgery or take a pill and something said do your research, don’t give up and pray and i came across this video. I love you guys for sharing this story as I am not giving up hope and have made another appointment with a different doctor this week. Thank you soooo much, this video has given me hope. I believe in God over a doctor any day and I want to congratulate you guys on being strong and firm and not giving up on your blessing. I can’t thank you guys enough for sharing this story. Im so happy that I ran across this video. Im currently going through an emotional rollercoaster with my suppose to be miscarrage. The doc said that im having a miscarraige and the babu will pass. I am bleedind but not heavy. What have the doc concerned is that my hcg levels or going up 50% within 24 hrs. Y'all sound so much like my husband and I. We just had our 8 week ultrasound a week ago. They told us that there was no baby. It was so devastating! We would love prayer! It was traumatic to hear, "no baby." We plan on natural if I do miscarry, but we keeping faith that this is a baby and the Lord is knitting the baby together!

I needed to see this video I'm currently going through this right now The doctor and the staff treated me horrible My husband and I left the office in tears. I never even met this doctor she calls on the phone to tell us that I'm probably going to miscarry but I'm still very hopeful and my husband and I have agreed to just trust God and I'm watching encouraging stories like yours to help me get through this. The waiting game is awful but I'm planning to go to another doctor in a couple weeks to get another ultrasound I don't want to go back to this doctor. I'm so glad you guys had a happy ending. Went in for my first appointment Wednesday. The doctor told me there was no heartbeat and suggested I take the pills or schedule a dnc then and there, are naturally miscarry. He wasn’t concerned at all about double checking or having me come in for a follow up appointment. He said there is absolutely no chance of my baby being alive, but my moms coworker went to the same place and they told her the same thing but they were wrong. I want this baby more than anything. I’m just praying for a miracle here.

Unfortunately I lost my baby a week later but I still don’t regret waiting for a second appointment, just in case it was a misdiagnosis. This is absolutely amazing!! I am going for my third U/S Wednesday to determine if I really have a blighted ovum or not so I'm praying praying praying! Even if you don't go back to that Jackass MD that misdiagnosed you, I would recommend lodging a formal complaint whether with the board or someone other than that front desk clerk who has no say on anything that you guys complained to, not only is his bedside manner abhorrent but he genuinely deserves a real reprimand. I am truly happy that he was completely wrong and that all is going well. ♥

I was just diagnosed with blighted ovum too. Was devastating to hear. I cried all morning after my ultrasound but I can't accept it. Doctor and tech were the same, they we're both cold and showed no sympathy. Had some lab done yesterday and again tomorrow to check for hcg levels and see if they double. Praying they do. But if they do, I will get a second opinion with a new office. I read many stories as well and it's giving me more hope. I should be 8 weeks and they did an external exam. I was told by some friends I should have gotten the internal exam cause I'm still really early. The tech wouldn't event look more. Happy it turned around for you. God bless!

I am sooooo happy for you. You have no idea how much your story has made me cry. I am currently going through the same thing. I have been told that I am going to miscarry because the u/s measured me at 6weeks when I knew I was only 4weeks 5days. I had blood drawn and my levels decreased a bit. But I felt absolutely no pain and my cervix is still closed. All they saw was a gestational sac. They are calling It a missed miscarriage. The tried to offer pills and a d&c and I refused both. I have scheduled an appointment with my previous ob for a second opinion. This Thursday would mark 6 weeks as far as my calendar goes. thank you so much for this story! i'm so glad i decided to watch it. I went in for an ultrasound and was told that I am going to miscarry since they say the sac and fetal pole but no heartbeat. I got my hcg levels taken, one day they were at 38,979, then the next time they were 33, 929. So it went down. The doctors and nurses at this one office are saying i'm going to miscarry but i'm not bleeding or cramping. I'm going to keep hope now. I pray to have a similar outcome like you two.

I was diagnosed in mid October I was having a delayed miscarriage at 12 weeks and got it confirmed on the Monday but both appointments they sound unsure like they wasn't 100 about their answer. My husband and I weren't satisfied but accepted and chose to miscarry naturally. Last week I had a vision from The Most High saying it wasn't dead and to prepare that was on Saturday and from Saturday till today my symptoms have comeback stronger I've got bump so I'm going to a different doctor in the coming weeks to see if everything is okay. I’ve been having some bleeding since Sunday 2/16/20. Rushed to the emergency room Had a vaginal ultrasound and blood test Two hours later or so I was told that my baby had no heartbeat.. I’m so sorry you guys went through this. 😢 for the last couple of weeks I’ve been getting told that I am miscarrying or that it’s too early or that it’s a threatened miscarriage and then a missed miscarriage. Also met with coldness from the doctor. I told him I was only five weeks and just because there was no heartbeat detected. He wanted me to go in and take the medication to expel this pregnancy. I said no way. I had to get progesterone, but I finally picked it up and started it. I go in Monday to check what my levels are doing. These days doctors have no empathy and they just don’t care about pregnant women anymore. we always have to advocate for our growing babies. I’m not sure how my pregnancy is going to turn out but I know that if I listen to the doctor and didn’t fight for a prescription for progesterone to help this pregnancy or possibly save it, I would never be able to forgive myself

Hey you'll, I watched your video, thank you for this I went Saturday and had a transvag ultrasound, I saw the baby!! Tech said I can't see a baby, she was lazy being honest but she congratulated me. Nurse walks in I shared with her same diagnosis as yours, the nurse was rude she had been the another persons room an hour due to an emergency and rushed me in and out, just mean !! I called around and got a second opinion on Sunday, baby was visible through an abdominal ultrasound, heart strong and baby looked good according to tech. GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!! You'll have me hope thank you!! I won't be seeing that nurse again!!

Meet The Chambers I'm so happy everything turned out great in the end!!! My heart broke for what you guy's had to go through. My hubby and I currently going through this right now. We are devastated. Took us almost 7 years for our first pregnancy via IVF and we were told I would miscarry. Baby stopped developing at 7 weeks 2 days for us. I'm currently waiting to miscarry naturally, I've been waiting about 3 weeks and things have begun to happen. It's very painful not just emotionally, but physically as well. If I were you I would let that doctor know that he made a huuuuge mistake and that he misdiagnosed you guy's and maybe that way he can learn from his terrible mistakes!! He was very un-professional and you should let him know!! That way he won't continue to break people's hearts into a million pieces. Just imagine if you would have done a d&c?!! Imagine all those other couples he must be misdiagnosing?! What a horrible man!! 😠 I'm so sorry I'm so furious at that "supposedly" doctor. Congrats on your pregnancy and the good news that your baby girl is okay!!! I'm so sorry you guy's went through that horrible experience, but I'm so glad everything turned out wonderful in the end!! I’m going through this now at the first ultrasound they told my fiancée that she has a missed miscarriage or that it could to early I asked how far she was and the tech said about 5-6 weeks im praying it’s just to early god bless you all we go to the next ultrasound on Tuesday

something like that happened to me. it was in the ER they did a ultrasound an didn't find nothing no sac no heartbeat an I never had my period yet. they said I was to misscarry and since then I will not go to the doctor. my friend checked for a heartbeat on a fetal Doppler and I heard a baby's heartbeat and I'm really scared to go to the doctor... so I understand how y'all feel

I think that is why most obstetricians wont see you (or at least wont do ultrasounds) till 7/8 weeks.

Right. They weren't going to see me til 8 weeks, but she told me to come in so they could see why I was spotting and then ish just got crazy after that.

In my last US I was 6 wks 1 dy. A fetal pole and a heart flicker we couldnt hear heart beat. My last US showed a gestational sac of 16mm and a yolk sac but no fetal pole. I was suppose to be 7 wks 6 dys. And by this time I should have seen fetal pole and heart beat. I am.to return in 1 wk to get another US to see if there is any progression if ur looks the same. She gave me the options of D&C , pills or natural misscarriage. She states 1 wk should show a difference and that I should be more comfortable to make a decision. She states that Its called a missed misscarriage because I have no misscarriage symptoms and technically I'm still pregnant but that my bby stoped growing. Prayers that there is progress, she did say your pregnancy is not a normal pregnancy since your sac is 16mmg with a yolk sak I can't dx missed misscarriage yet. But if it was 25mm then definitely a misscarriage. But I do question even if there somewhat of a progress according to my LMP I'm suppose to be at 9 wks not 8 and if bby does progress a lil is it still not a healthy pregnancy? Because bby is smaller than expected? It's the longest waiting time period.

Devil? He was definitely a horrible doctor, but I wouldn't go so far as to say he was evil. You never know, he could just been having a really bad day, or even worse, been racist or something. The same thing has happned to me.. Almost 9 months ago When I was supposedly 8 weeks they told me my baby had no heart beat. I was told to get DNC 2 days later but I refused after numerous negative blood test at the same hospitals with a No everytime I asked for another sonogram. I dont know if I will deliver or not please pray for me. My belly has grown and I still experience pregnancy symtoms I was given 2 due dates one on March 21 2017 and another for March 31 2017 and to top it all off this pregnancy was concieved after a tubal ligation a year previously. I use a fetal Doppler which register fetal tones from 120- 200 and the doctors tell me this is my own heartbeat. And when i go into get fetal heart tones they always say it my own heart beating I've had no sonogram since August 25 2016.

I pray that everything works out for you. Sending good vibes and prayers your way. When I went to the first doctor they thought I was 6 weeks, but I had to have been 5 weeks at the time. At the 2nd doctor the next week is when the baby was found, I was around 6 or 7 weeks. Had eptopic that ruptured and I internally bled for 4 days. Each pregnancy I have to be seen right away, since that. 3 different subsequent pregnancies, 2 different MDs said blighted ovum, come back in 2 weeks if you don't pass it on your own and will do a D&c... Each time baby was there!!!!! They were all surprised each time. I wasn't I just knew they were wrong. I was told I have a tilted uterus and they can't see the fetal pole or anything until about 7 weeks or more, I look like an empty sac and behind or dates off. But then weeks later they show to LMP or even ahead. Luckily we only scheduled d&C's but not officially Just tentative dates. My kids are 7&6, one did miscarriage naturally at 11 weeks for trisomy probably but they thought that was a blighted ovum too.(these were high quality vaginal ultrasounds, with way high enough HCG levels they expected to see them).

I know i am 8 years late. But, i am going through the same situation and came a cross with your vedio. Which gave me lot of confidence and hope. My LMP is feb 22 2023. I always have irregular periods. Like the cycle may go 35 to 45 days. Due to this may be my ovulation and conceive process gets delay. However, as per lmp i am 12weeks. But yesterday I had US in a private sector they marked as a blighted ovum with no yolk sac and fetal pole. My GS is 23mm with 7 week 0 days. Previous also i had 2 US in a government hospital their report also same. I still didn't loose hope and waited for good US in a private one. But, yesterday also no sign of beby. I am so sad and crying all the day. Still my heart is not ready to accept. If i go to my doc she may say to d&c or wait for natural. I am not ready for anything. I still have hope that my beby is there. My heart is not accepting. I am praying to God that please help me with a sign. Who ever reads my comments please suggest me. Do i wait for another 2 to 3 months or should I go for clean? Please help your support will help me to take the right decision.

What were your hcg levels during all of this family?, did they go up and down or stay steady cause me and my wife are being told the same thing by doctors that it is going to be a definite miscarriage even though we have gestational sac,yoke sac and fetal pole,but with some bleeding,and dropping hcg levels

I'm praying and want to wait because the website I went into says to wait till about 9 weeks of gestation to make an accurate decision as far as doing a DNC. I try to be positive but it's a Rollercoaster of emotions and worrying . I pray for God to give me the strength whatever comes with this pregnancy. =(

+Liliana Wright yes it's def a rollercoaster of emotions...I say wait because you can never be too sure. If you wait then you'll have no questions and you'll no for sure what it is instead of just assuming. If I would have listened to the first doc my little girl would not be here right now. The first ultrasound with the first doc said I was at 6 weeks when I went to them so that's why they said I was going to miscarry bc something should be seen at that time, but I was earlier than they thought. Every pregnancy is not by the book.

has anybody ever experienced a drop in HCG levels around for weeks doctors are climbing there's no possible way they could have read the numbers wrong because I feel like 1200 is awful high for 4 weeks it drop down to 533 they're claiming there is no possible way that there could have been more than one baby in there that I could have only been miscarriage but I haven't had any more than spotting no blood clots light pink sometime Brown is sometimes for maybe 15 to 20 minutes bread but only when I wipe I'm not having horrible cramps nothing I'm trying to be optimistic but I need some good news somebody who's went through this and everything was okay

I was misdiagnosed with blighted ovum at 5 weeks doctor suggested me to take abortion pill I waited next weeks still no result but I was not mentally prepared for abortion I waited for another week and and changed my doctor she was very kind and give me hope asked me to wait 10 more days wait was killing me I cried alot and do wait for 5 days only in order to take final decision at 9 weeks See what happened my baby was there and was growing so well ❤️‍🩹 Alhumdulillah Alhumdulillah
