I walk the river stour from cradley forge all the way to the corngreaves covering history from the old forge that was situated on the stour many years ago to chain making to more . we journey all the way to the corngreaves where the walk comes to a end really interesting route this walk .
history of the cradley area
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cradl...
this area also used to be prosperous for coal mines as the area was rich for the minerals .

@@MidlandsOutdoors dont think i can upload pics on here but my Moms Aunt gave her a couple of fabulous books today. 1 on clent hills and 1 on Halesowen featuring the river Stour and all sorts of other bits and bobs. A lot of the content was around the old farms prev in Halesowen . Some great facts in both. Happy to email or whats app you the titles or some of the content

You do point out stuff along the way that I would certainly miss. Great couple of vids of an area I know little about, and have only fleetingly passed through a handful of times over the years. Sure one of the cars in the hedge was a triumph dolomite from the 70s? Edited to add, I cycled back to the Waseley Hills this morning and thought of you Drew.

I am quite shocked at what has happened to the Majestic cinema. In the 1960's when I was a small child, the Majestic was considered the "Posher" of the two cinemas in Cradley Heath. The Royal ( up the top end) was a more down market affair. I have been in both of them to see films. The Royal was the cinema of choice for Friday night ( after school finished for the weekend) films because it was cheaper . Not that either place was bad. They were both really well decorated and maintained back then. I went to Lomey Town infants and Corngreaves Junior ( was the girls school then) .My father was from Cradley Heath and my mother lived in Netherton ( Cradley Road as it goes up from what was the Valeting Service). I used to cross the mouse sweet brook daily to get to my grans. However, much of the Stour in those days was still bounded by factories ( many operational still - including iron forges and chain works) and was not accessible for walking. Good video. I enjoyed seeing it..

Hi there , it's a shame to see the majestic cinema go to waste I've heard there storing bikes in there from hawk cycles you can find some pictures inside somewhere online of that . Thanks for sharing this information quiet interesting amazing to see what was there by the stour 😊
