is this some sort of patent? Don't know why Toyota and Hondas are not making them like this...

Because these foldable second row seats are also far less comfortable to sit in.

Of course it is patented. Why not buy a Pacifica instead of wishing a Japanese companies copied it?

@@rickfrohnert6991 I did! Worst idea ever... grew up in a dodge/jeep/Chrysler family(and yes they WERE white folks! I was adopted kind of...) one of our fam van was Brand NEW Chrysler town&country, all the vehicles(brand new/semi new we had jeep/Dodge/Chrysler), Chrysler was probably the better of all 3.Things started to break at 30k, about 50-65K had major repairs, about 80-90K... most of them were leaking oil, this was w/ ALL THEIR CARS(this was around year 2000), when I moved out at 18, I knew I needed a reliable vehicle. My VERY OWN initial new car was Honda...then after that were varies Toyota fleets. You name it I have it! Guess what?!I still own my very 1st Toyota camery, if insurance would fix up my aunts car(I was not at fault), then i would still have a STRONG running 04 Toyota highlander which I take to go skiing and snowboarding.. Sorry had to tell you story of my life, I WOULD NEVER EVER GO BACK!!!

@@aburanick I am on my 3rd Chrysler minivan. The previous two were awesome, both with over 250k miles on original transmissions when sold at over 15yo to new owners. Neither had engine oil or leak issues, just 1 alternator, one $65 radiator, 2 $75 water pumps (1 each)...both had some body rust from road salt.
