Let us pray for the soul that continuously dislikes this series of videos. May Our Lord touch and enlighten this one that satisfaction may be met. Let us echo in our lives the Apostle St John's last powerful words: "Children, love one another."

I LOVE these reflexions. They are small Bible studies that go deep in Scripture. Thank you so much for sharing them with us. God bless all the St Paul Center team!

Being a person of faith, we must also be aware suffering is a part of the walk of faith. Greatly appreciate the lessons being taught.

Thanks. That observation about the right cheek indicating an insulting slap, rather than a punch, finally makes sense of that teaching to me. That passage is immediately followed by the command to love our enemies. The purpose is not so much to change the world with love as it is to simply be loving - to be as souls made "in a likeness" of Love (God). Love is generous to all, including the wicked. Their evils should not dampen the love in our hearts. When they hurt and offend us, we should yet want what is good for them, pray for their conversion, and seek to help them in what is good.

Now I understand better the context of non-violence resistance, that is, to absorb the shock of personal offences to conquer the evil of such offences by walking the higher road of charity - the way of Jesus' cross...thank you...God bless, Prof. Curtis.

Observe the cross, is our suffering greater than what our Lord suffered on that cross? Be of good cheer!

Archbishop Chaput was recently interviewed by Tucker Carlson (video "worth dying for: tucker talks to Archishop Charles Chaput").. kinda like the distortion of eye for eye, tooth for tooth.. it's called perpetual pouting.. but Jesus wants us to take a higher road and make peace.. Chaput: "i think the best image of hell would be pouting you know i'm sure you've probably pouted with your wife or your children or they they pouted with you we think we're really showing them something by pouting and you know being angry but hell is an eternal pouting where we just refuse relationship with god and with other people that's and that we become that kind of people that can do that we can we've met people who pouting is hell it's a perpetual pouting itself. you know it feels like hell every time i do it Tucker: "what do you mean by pouting? can you well pull it out a little bit?" Chaput: "i've never been asked that question before but when i've pouted. i feel like i'm going to punish the other person by withdrawing my attention and affection yeah i'm going to show them that they hurt me or that i better them or whatever the motive is for pouting i think it's i feel moment at the moment i think it's effective it's going to accomplish my goal of making them feel bad about what they said to me or said about me or whatever but it doesn't do that all this is isolate me from the other person it blocks a relationship if i decided to keep pouting relationship would never come back right it would be it's a it's an act of isolation in order to show something an act of pride and i think that that's what hell is like you know it's it's telling god and telling other people that we're sufficient on our own we don't need them and we'll "do it my way!" you know like frank sinatra's saying it's rooted in self-pity too self-pity is connected to pouting it is self-centeredness which is self-pity you know it's self-centeredness."
