These 2.0's are extremely odd in that they can range from raspy and throaty to (imo) deeper and more growly depending on the setup. My GTI is running just a resonator using a cut-off that can allow it to go through the muffler OR straight out. With the muffler, the car is insanely tame sounding. Without the muffler, it's a weird mixture of throaty and deep with a tad bit rasp. With a $3k exhaust setup, you'll probably find what you are looking for. Be sure to do a lot of Youtubing, but also understand nothing sound the exact same IRL from my experience.
