Today we started chopping corn silage at the main farm! We filled the silo at the other farm and capped it off with plastic!

Yup! She has a sick fuel problem. I worked on those back in the 70s and they were the finest tractor I ever worked on. If you want to keep it working, and if it doesnt have one, get a turbo kit and put on it while you are getting your injector problem fixed. I will grant you will use less fuel, gain huge HP and that thing will RRUUNN. like a kitten and pull like nothing you have ever seen.

Man idk how many times I’ve came back to watch this but every time I see the 8600 it reminds me of growing up on my grampas farm in his 7600 and 7700

I have a faint ringing and sounds of crickets chirping in my ears to this very day because of spending 12-16 hrs a day on a straight piped 8600. That was 35 years ago.....I still miss that tractor....... .

You can still find these tractors online but they're pretty rough looking!

Yeah I know... They are rough and eat up with hours. These tractors got used hard. Occasionally I see one still working in the field. I just wanna sit and watch every time I see one.

that was working the tractor. I heard you say "limping along with this tractor". I've had to limp along with my equipment too so I know exactly where that came from. it's not like you can say hey corn don't dry down I need a few more days for the part to arrive so I can fix the tractor. we want things fixed right and as they should be but lack of money and crops not waiting sometimes means limping along with what we've got. thanks for the video.

She's coming along , Slowly ! LOL Nothing like running into little problems all the time that just eat up time . This has turned into a project and a half and its taking a lot longer to get this done than I figured it would, I thought a month tops I'd have it done and back on the road. Last night I ordered the last of the parts I need to fix it with and now its down to the nitty gritty to get it done ! Bandit

50hp per row to get a move on. This is a 6.6 n/a and about 100 on the shaft. Smoke is standard, we have this motor in the UK in the tw and 30/40 series

@@landmarkcattle5220 yep I like them. The only sad problem with the 4 pot and the 6 was they go porous, but yea they are brilliant the tractor in this video is basically a tw10 in the UK, it's my favourite as it has no turbo and is reliable and simple but boy do they smoke lol,

A tractor blowing that much coal is bad for the engine the higher exhaust temperature wouldn't be good for valves or turbo.
