You should try lapping and burnishing the stone one time, and remove the oil from it and use soapy water, it produces a much much sharper edges this way

Enjoy your honing technique. Very fluid with the laps. Something I’ve been trying to work on myself. Was wondering if you lapped your Ark to a certain grit or burnish it?

Thanks for the reply! I did some initial lapping with a 140 atoma. My final surface was just with the 400 atoma (decently worn). I have not tried prepping the surface with higher grit and sandpaper but might in the future. I like the current set up as I can easily refresh the surface with the atoma when needed.

@@ChrisDaBOSS7 nice…I’m thinking about taking mine to 1200 on one side and burnished and leaving the other as is and lap as well with just my Diamond plate. By the way the Nakayama Karasu I received from you has been a great stone with nice consistent edges off that Karasu. Thanks again 👍🏻
