Sweet work, John. Glad you chose Pallas Athena (and Athena...and Palladion) to discuss for this edition. With how much history Athena has, choosing to truncate it was a good call. Honestly, Athena Picaro might be my favorite, as this version of Athena rocks the red and black color scheme.

I do love the color scheme, but compared to some of the other Picaro Personas, I really do wish they'd changed Athena a BIT more. She feels a lot more toned down compared to like Tsukiyomi or Izanagi-no-Okami

oh. the story I was taught about Arachne ended a bit differently. she didn't kill herself & being turned into a spider was more of a punishment & not Athena feeling bad.

Yeah, there's a number of variations regarding who actually won the contest and if the transformation was a punishment or out of pity. About the only consistent bits are Athena challenging Arachne after her prideful boasting, and Arachne's tapestry being an insult that showcased the gods at their lowest.

Athena is a fucking joke first off she was known for doing incredibly cruel and petty shit when she perceived a slight. It was a gross misuse of power and was never intended to be a show of pity. That's a story idiots like you have recently started spreading

So, fun fact the tales of athena turning one of her priestess into medussa was not the original myth, it was written later by a poet named Abed (I think) who used to write myths about the gods punishing mortals unfairly as a way to critizose the emperor at the time, who kicked him out of the city where he was born if i remember correctly

Quite the opposite, actually. I brilliantly anticipated that Atlus might backtrack on what they said before about not doing The Answer, and that's why I specifically wrote the line as "You won't be experiencing *anytime soon*" instead of implying that it would never happen at all. I'd say 8 months is long enough of a gap to no longer qualify as "soon"
