Genny, the experimental build is worth it, leather can be used instead of lashings for some tools and you also get the fire torches, I've had to restart twice only because of world generation changes but it seems stable plus the pine trees are quick and easy sticks

Hey Genny, in the experimental update 0.20 they had a few fixes for the sharks. This is from their patch notes: - fixed sharks occasionally colliding with rafts unintentionally - fixed sharks spawning outside of zone biome - fixed sharks roaming under islands - fixed sharks attempting to reach players on land - fixed sharks taking double damage - fixed sharks exploring deeper than intended. So, all-in-all, quite an overhaul to the shark behaviour. I suggest running the experimental build, maybe?

a Genrikb can you make a pontoon raft? 3 bases on left one in the middle and 3 on the right. then you can put your sail in the center. it should give you a more even ride and whenever they do an update to let you haul stuff on the rafts yud have plenty of room.

Dont worry about starting over. I think we all want to see the new items in action. I will say I play experimental from time to time and it does have its bugs. The last update removed the sound when chopping things.

Frankly I get tired of restarting this game. I have been playing it since release. All updates should work with new stable builds. For the most part they do that in 7DTD as an example. These Devs here are just lazy. And don't want to spend the time to make an update compatible with previous versions. It is not like they are using a new game engine or anything.

i killed my first great white shark at the shallow waters of stranded deep when i killed it i dived right down were i KNEW it was and it had glitched through the ground :( soo rip thoose 11 spears i used and that great white. like i want these stranded deep guys to make soo we can have saves soo we dont have to restart and make soo the ground the island the whoke map is solid soo the god darn sharks dosent go through the world -.- like i wanna make a shark tank right like a map with shark tanks but the sharks keep going outside and the swordfish does the same and also the small blacktip WTF

Dude, restarting is the best part of this game. Every new save starts with exploration. It gets boring when you get all the creature comforts late in the game. I'd say go for it.

So, I think if you do start over there ought to be an emphasis on using the new stuff- like building as much of your base with tarps as you can. That way you're not trading all your progress for one little update you hardly use.

I like the fact that you have to venture out to get supplies... that is basically the main danger in this game to me. You leave your home base where all your water and food are... to possibly get lost and be living off coconuts again lol I can see the fun in multiplayer but it would be rather pointless except maybe for people to hang out with one another. I mean you could do a coop survival type thing with a couple or handful of players and to me that would be the best multiplayer for this game... so basically one guy is the fire wood/construction wood guy and one guy is the fisherman/hunter etc... either way its a neat game and I am curious to see how far it goes.

Hey! The new update is not really worth it, the two biggest changes were the loom and the tanning station. The leather is used for sails and refined tools. They changed the menu so It is very annoying and still haven't fixed the land sharks. I have 2 worlds I play in now ... one is for Stable updates (until it breaks again) and one is for experimental which breaks when the stable comes out. So my suggestion is to continue to play in the world you have and hope that Stable version 21 doesn't break it! I feel your frustration +GenerikB I am getting to the point where I almost hate starting a new world knowing it will break at some point or I will die for some stupid reason lol But nonetheless great Epoisode :D
