Thank you for actually following the first advice the game gives you and actually reading the survival advice in the Databank! 90% of people seem not to read it, and then many people flail around for hours and say "What the heck am I supposed to be doing?" I think you've made solid progress precisely because you took time to read things, even if it isn't always the most exciting youtube content to watch someone read. But we can always just fast forward, so no harm, no foul. I think that's one huge advantage of playing this game on youtube instead of trying to constantly entertain twitch viewers.
@ds90seph
@ds90seph Жыл бұрын
While I agree with you, I find it hilarious that we need to praise people for following instructions and doing what the game intends them to do lmao. People looking for guidance when there's a literal "start here" tab in the menu is so silly. I worry for the generation who learns from observing those people you're referring to.

Good to see someone read the damn prompts and take in the clues that the interface is feeding you! Such a relief. Dumb gamers are SO frustrating, because they don't notice changes to the cursor, information pips, and don't scan everything (while constantly asking stupid questions that the game is TRYING to answer).

1:27:27 Don't know if you've discovered it yet, but you CAN convert all that water to drinkable water. There's 2 recipes for making water. Figure out the crafting chain for the other one and you'll have an easier time. Later you'll get a 3rd option. (if you're lucky) There's multiple options for a lot of things in Subnautica. A couple of other tips; you can craft with rotten materials. You didn't need to throw away your first creepvine samples. Some stuff is really big. (creepvine and seed clusters) Craft them to take less space in storage. Make mesh, make silicone or lubricant.

The long-awaited Subnautica at last! You did quite well in your first few hours. Got a lot of the basic gear made and now you're ready for some exploration for sure. I'm sure you're going to love the game's story as it begins to open up. One simple non-spoilery tip that I see lots of first time players miss (maybe you noticed?): if something is scannable, you get a pop-up of a scanner icon at the bottom right of the screen, even if your scanner tool isn't currently out. Similarly, when a radio message comes in, you see an icon at the top right, though that one is much bigger. Can't wait for more!

It's quite fun to watch someone to do blind playtrough bc then you don't go straight to beating the game but you try and learn stuff and explore more. Like i can get seamoth, cyclops and prawn easily in first 2-5 hours of the game on the second playthrough, but in the fisrt i got seamoth in 6 hours maybe. Also a hint for you: MAKE A BASE. You need it. also in the mushroom cave in a lot of mangenite and those rocks what gives you litium, diamond and gold. Something else probaly too, bot those are atleast something you get from there

1:21:44 That detail about the Peeper's nasal cavity possibly being suited for detecting a specific enzyme that the PDA hasn't encountered yet is kind of interesting, lol. Pretty Chekov's Gun-y. I know some stuff about the plot but I don't remember how Peepers are involved with it. No spoilers please if it's something that Mapo is likely to run into later on or something.

I love that most Subnautica let's plays always start with the player reading the PDA so long that it's night time when they finally emerge for the first time

I support using PDA pause. Just read the "assessment" line at the bottom of PDA entries if you don't want to read the full text. You swim faster if you're not holding equipment like a flashlight or scanner.

I played both subnautica games blind in hardcore, it makes the game MUCH more intense as you could lose everything, you get a genuine survival instinct

I played this while it was still in development, Loved it, and finally came back and played it on my switch this year, and actually played through the whole game, as before there wasn't a full game. It's such an amazing game, and I cant wait to watch through your playthrough of it! Also, I am so impressed at your determination to get a repair tool and fix the aurora before the quantum detonation. You're doing amazing for the first few hours of playing!
