Dear, you had a couple of life-altering experiences in hardly two years most people would have been down and out about. You moved to Scotland (involving a soaking wet house), made the transition and lost both parents. It's a miracle you are still standing. I know more is at play. You do you, I encourage you whatever you decide. Now about getting that sleep XD Just kidding. Big hug, may all go as it was meant to be.

I don't hang out in the comment section much, but I feel compelled to let you know what your presence here on KZbin has meant to me and my family. I am a keen knitter and originally started watching your podcast for the beautiful yarn. i was won over by your knack for honestly recounting your various life experiences with a sense of humour and self reflection. I have a 20 year old trans son and you were about a year ahead of him in terms of your transition. My son and I have followed your progress over the past several years with interest and compassion and although my son isn't a knitter (he dabbles in crochet) he still asks how you are doing and what's new with you. As a mother, your presence here has helped me understand more about trans issues and how they affect my son and his community as well as helped me deal with my own worries and concerns about the challenges he will have to face and my desire to protect him. He has a top surgery date set for this spring and seeing you navigate your own surgery amidst devastating loss and coming out the other side has been so reassuring to both of us. I still have some Stranded skeins and I hope to purchase a few more during the update that I plan to work into a project (perhaps a post surgery blanket?) for my son as a reminder of your strength, resilience and courage. I'm glad you are putting yourself first and send all the love and best wishes as you move forward. I will continue to follow you on social media whenever you have something to say there. Bless you Jude. Oh my!

I’m so sorry it has come to this for Stranded. What I am glad about is that you realize that you need a break and that taking care of yourself is paramount. On a personal note, I will miss seeing you here and following your journey as a human being. Honestly, Stranded was never about the yarn for me, but rather about you. Take care and I hope you do continue to connect with this community, because we love you and are cheering you onward to whatever awaits.

I was so happy the day I found you on KZbin many years ago, and have been so grateful for all that you've shared of your journey both in your business and in your life. You have had many life altering experiences in the past few years and your resilience is beyond reproach. I wish you all of the best, Jude, in whatever & wherever the future takes you. I have a few skeins of Stranded still in my stash that I will joyfully knit and think of you!

In a bizarre kind of way, I was thinking about you this morning as I was wrapping myself up to keep warm in a Stranded Piñata shawl, a strong firm favourite! Leaving teaching few years ago after exhaustion was heart wrenching but as you simply and eloquently put it, certain jobs are just like that , they take as much as they give… The loss of your parents, your personal life travels will have forced a discussion between your heart, your head and full body, a long time ago I am sure… As a confessed yarn addict (Hello, my name is Nathalie… I can hear the chorus replying!), I have quite a few more Stranded skeins yet to be wound including the cherished Stranded Elf and I shall knit them with even greater joy, picturing you resting, nurturing and finding new ways, one maybe leading you to your cabin in the woods… with my endless gratitude and most sincere best wishes, Jude!

The amount of change that you have been through in the last four years is staggering. You need a long rest, and a chance to process all that has happened, before you have the spoons to even begin to think about what’s next. Keep composting and gardening and doing all the things that delight you, intrigue you, excite you, calm you, motivate you….after you’ve had enough rest and down time to remember and explore what those things are. Above all, take good care of yourself, Jude. ❤️ harpingJanet

One of the hardest things to do is to know when something needs to end. I'll miss your beautiful yarn, but I'm so pleased for you that you've made the best decision for you. You've been through so much recently and you've come out of it all still a functional human being, which is just amazing. ❤

Your video popped up just now. I am wearing a sweater made from Naive Watercolour, knitting a OOAK skein into a hat and have a Coorie In Poncho on the needles using your yarn. My first pair of socks was made with your yarn. In 2018 I first saw your podcasts and fell in love with knitting at the age of 64. Thank you so much Jude. I'd like to think of you in a cottage in the Highlands, knitting and growing your own food. Whatever you choose to do, you deserve every happiness.xxxx

Your creativity, intelligence, work ethic, thoughtfulness and sense of humor have inspired me and helped me through the years. I very much think of you as a friend, even if that seems strange. I have always appreciated your pursuit of mental health and how you shared it with us. I loved your mom and your relationship with her. I’m proud of you for doing whatever is best for you. Thank you so much for all your insanely hard work!! I'm a transmasc (fairly) new knitter and I adore your videos and treasure your presence and journey, your video on post-transition sweaters got me to attempt my first ever garment and sparked a new obsession. I have been saving up to grab some transendence yarn and now I've got a good excuse to do just that! I wish you every luck in your future ventures but first it's about time you got some decent rest!

I have to be honest, I was very alarmed when I saw the title lol. But now that i've watched the video, I'm really happy for you that you're taking a break and re-evaluating. Even if it's indefinite, even if you never come back. It's bittersweet, but you've seemed really stressed and overwhelmed (for obvious reasons) and I've always wondered if it was sustainable. I really hope you are able to experience genuine rest, and good luck with the future! Also good luck on getting your (knitted?) ducks in a row

Jude, you have been such a major part of my knitting journey for the last 6 years or so. Your humor, your sweet smile, your amazing perseverance through all the things that have happened, and the strength you have shown through all of it has meant so much to me. I have learned from you about priorities when it comes to self care and mental health. I have wanted so much to order from your shop and had planned it as my one luxury yarn purchase for this year. (Fixed disability income so planning is crucial) So will be hitting the shop update for sure! Thank you for all you have done in the knitting community and for being a shining example of being true to yourself. Rest, knit, think, and give yourself time to figure stuff out. Hugs and best wishes for you! (Hard to figure out what emoji sums up what I’m feeling right now so here’s a few that seem to fit when I think of you.)😳😥🐑🦙🪴🧦🧣🧶

You are amazing Jude, you have been through so much, especially over the last few years. I really hope you find a good work life balance. It is a struggle for us all. I have watched your podcast since 2016 you were one if the first podcasts that I found and started watching then. I have only had a couple of single skeins of your yarn, one of them was from your lovely friend Kim's shop near Bristol. I made a pair of Cabled socks from Marce's ( Hey Brownbery) pattern, Intersections. I would love to get a sweater quality of your dark green DK yarn if that's possible before you close? Sending you so much love and hugs. 😘💕🤗

You are so deserving and needing the reset and recharge time and get a chance to be creative because you need a shop sample. I still miss seeing your mom. She was such a hoot trying to bring you to reality. Small businesses are impossible if you can’t make enough to support the salary of help but is too much for one person. My grandparents and then my parents ran a fishing camp with cabins and a small grocery/soda shop. My grandparents opened it in 1941, then my parents took over and ran it into the 90’s and couldn’t do it anymore. I hope you get to complete your physical transformation and I hope you find joy and love. I have loved and grieved watching your journey.

It's a shame to see Stranded close but really hope you'll stick around and continue to share your adventures with us (I do love your humour). Your podcast is one of two fiber craft podcasts I watch and I'd be very sad to see that go as well. After all, how will I know what the weather is like in the UK? Or learn all about composting? Also, thank you for sharing your transitioning story/experiences with us (I'm sure YT/IG can be an ugly place for that at times). You are a wonderful human being. You take care of you 💕 Yours was the first knitting podcast I watched and what kicked me into wanting to start my own, and I've had the pleasure to use some of your yarns over the years (I still have a popcorn garland skein that needs a project!) . I'm of course sad to see the end of Stranded, but so happy for you that you're taking this step to take care of yourself and reevaluating how to live your life. I hope for all the best possible for you! Take your break and have that sleep. 💖

I am happy for you that you are moving toward a life that feels better. It can be so scary to make these big changes but it’s important to see that we have options and when something doesn’t feel right we have the power to change it. I am currently crocheting a cardigan with your Damsel colorway and it is stunning. Stranded was a wonderful thing you did, both the podcast and the dye works, and I will miss it. I’m looking forward to watching whatever you share in the future ❤

♥️❤️♥️ life has been rocky for you. I am not a knitter but a sewer/crafter but have loved seeing the dying process and all the luscious colors. I appreciate all artisans. From when you set up your parent’s garage, from seeing you set up your home, the visits of Not My Cat, the walks along the shores of the Firth of Forth, your personal journey. Thank you for sharing your life. I wish you peace and happiness in the next stage of your journey of life ❤️♥️❤️

Jude your yarn will be missed but I’m happy for you starting a new path. How exciting and scary, this coming from someone who has packed up all her family’s things and moved across the United States from one side to the other 4 times for my husbands work. It’s a great adventure to start a new journey. We all love you and wish you all the best

It can be scary to make big changes, but also, and more importantly, so good to take of yourself. I'm glad you have the means to do it. It's unfortunate that we spend so much of our lives slaving away for $. 5 years ago, I had the opportunity to reduce my hours/pay drastically. Though it felt weird and wrong because when I do something, I usually give it 110%. What I found is that as I got older, it was harder and I was always tired. Working p/t allows me to do other things worth exploring as well as seeing my grandkids more often. Granted, I was really only able to do this because of privilege and I realize not everyone can do this. So if anyone has the means to do it, I do recommend it. You are right; life is short! Best wishes, Jude!

Jude!! such a well deserved and needed break finally. You can lean on your experience as a small business owner, experienced knitter and diyer to guide and lead you forward. We're here for you should you ever venture back perhaps as a small hobby farmer somewhere beautiful!! Big hugs from Nova Scotia.
