That house is in excellent condition, I can’t believe it’s being demolished. It must be nice to have that kind of money to demolish a perfectly good house to build another. I’m in my 50’s and have yet to own a home. SMH

I just started the video, but I know of a lot of suburbs near me where there’s a home that’s a little dated-it’s expensive for the land/location and they call it a “tear down”. I know it’s up to the person that made the money on how to spend it, but I like the idea of fixer uppers. 🙂

What a shame to hear this beautiful home is to be demolished, I lived in the 70's and 80's with the green shag carpets and the colored tubs and counters and it was never boring.

Great video...nice to see a house that has not been vandalized. In the 80's they made homes with 'family rooms' off the kitchen...so mom's could see the kids while they were in the kitchen. So this is what the room with the fireplace is. On the other side of the entryway would be the formal living room and dining room...the formal living room was hardly ever used...only for special guest visits. I loved the wood front door! Awesome! Great to have a bedroom on the main floor... probably for Nona!

Furnishings all date from the early 80s. The glass and chrome or brass look was a fad that was fairly short-lived, so it's easy to date. The home looks to be late 70s construction. Appliances, cabinets, and the closed layout are typical of mid-to-late 70s. Open plan homes weren't a thing until mid-80s onward.

It is a shame this house is going be torn down. It is such a beautiful home. This house could be sold and the money used to help the poor or homeless. It is a waste to tear this home down. I myself live in a 57 year old mobile home with a tarpolian over the roof to keep the rain out.

They sure left a lot of expensive and still useable things behind. What a waste. Such a nice house. And the only time bathroom fixtures are interesting is if they’re unique or antique! But never if they’re dirty. Thank you for sparing us that! Nice find-always sad to see quality homes abandoned.

I've driven past this home for years and remember it being built in the late 70's. The lot is amazing and it's surrounded by active farm fields. The huge front porch with it's Italian arches and double garage makes the house look much larger than it actually is. Even for the 70s & 80s I'm disappointed by the very basic cost fixtures throughout the house. From the cedar stamped (not carved) front door, that were sold by the hundreds of thousands by every building center at that time, very basic plumbing and electrical fixtures, laminate counter tops and fiberglass tub enclosures, there isn't much that is salvageable.
@chmeee95628 ай бұрын
My guess is that the original owners moved out 5 or so years ago, did some minor renovations (like painting, re-stain the floors, etc) and then turned it into an AirBNB for a few years. Explains why the house is dated but is very good condition.

That’s what doesn’t make sense. I think it really only has been abandoned for a year I so. It’s way too clean and good upkeep do it to have been abandoned for 40 years. More likely the people left the last year or so and LEFT the old furniture and took everything more modern

If these people are going to take the items still left, then technically the house is not "abandoned". They just havent had time to get everything out? Was the house just left unlocked? Kind of odd if it was where people coukd just walk in and take whatever they wanted?
