I’m British and I absolutely only heard this for the first time in 2009 when I was at university. But it’s always been weirdly familiar like I’d heard it even earlier in my life around the 1990s. I don’t think they made it to the British charts. I’ll never know for certain though.

Agree, somehow only the Advanced Mix made it, but not this one. They told me their record label might be planning another compilation, but you know how it goes.. we have to see. Luckily the So80s series and the Classic Alternatives made sure this one is not forgottoen. I was surprised this version was not on KZbin, either.

Is it a word play? Because hearts pump blood like fountains. Either way this and the opening line “You’re on your own and meet a friend who doesn’t kill but wounds for life” Are my favourite lyrics ever.

You are welcome. This is the best version but unfortunately never released on cd by the band. It is however on Classic Alternatives 2 and on So Eighties 10 or 11, by Blanc and Jones who claim to only use mastertapes.
