A phone camera’s sensor is a lot more sensitive to light than our eyes, It’s quantum efficiency is higher.

@@mayurramudit this is not the case, phone camera sensors or basically any camera sensor can withstand up to about 100mW of lazer light before the sensor is irreparably damaged, they can withstand sunlight in the same manner, but for our eyes, starting into the sun can damage the retina over time and for lasers anything over 5-10mW can cause PERMANENT damage to the delicate rods and cones that detect light on the retina.

When I was a kid, I stared at a laser pointer to see how long I could. Now, forever, I can't see out of the center of my right eye. Its not black, but often a mix of the colors I can see around it. Like when you rub your eyes too hard and you see a flashy void of color for a moment? Anyway, moral of the story: be smarter than I was.

Supposedly the new iOS 18 will allow you to “configure” replacement parts to a device. But I haven’t seen yet whether that would get rid of the message in settings for a case like in this video.

Yes you can and yes it would. There is now a finish repair button you press and the new camera is synced to the phone.

The JCID tag on flex would remove the notification, but it also costs an extra £15~ for the part. You then have to account for more labour time, which increases the price for the customer. We offer the notification removal option, however not all customers care about it, as long as their device works.

The good thing with the latest IOS update is that we can calibrate the camera and remove the none genuine part notification as long as the camera is from a device that is not listed as lost or stolen :)

This is because most apple parts are serialized (like the camera). When he replaces the camera, the phone knows that the serial number is different from the original. Because of this, the phone displays it's "unable to verify"

Unfortunately, bc it's a third-party part, it displays this message. It will do the same with any after-market part. The only way around it would be buying an apple original part and calibrating it with AST2 or Repair Cal. Unfortunately, these parts are expensive, and not a lot of shops have access to apple official parts :(
