I saw my first Rock concert in Tulsa, OK on 3/17/77. It was ELO, A New world Record tour. It was the first Laser light concert in America. I had listened to the debut of the LP on KMOD 97.5 in November of 1976 with my grade school friend, Dave L. He and I were big Electric Light Orchestra fans! My favorite song on the album was Telephone Line. I was a sopmore in high-school and my friend, Steve B drove us from Coffeyville, KS, 70 miles north of Tulsa. To the show. It was a Thursday. We twisted a lefty and Drank a couple of Schiltz beers. The light show was Amazing! On Friday morning, with the sounds of Amplifiers still ringing in my ears, I walked into the wrong classroom for my first class! I was still stoned.

I have a tendency not listen to what the radio plays... anyway, I watched Jeff's involvement with the other bands and I always had this idea that Jeff was more than the leader of a band. Wow! Goosebumps! Absolutely incredible performance and man does it ever bring back memories of being a teenager in the 70's. I remember listening to this with my friends - hot summer nights, all of us piled into my Chevy, windows down and ELO blaring on 8 track. Best days ever! Had it made and didn't know it.

Funny you should mention that quote from John Lennon. Upon returning to the U. S. in late 1974 from an 8-month Med. Cruise on the USS Blakely DE1072, e had been isolated from top-40 radio for quite sometime. When we approached the East coast of the U.S. and came into reach of Hit Radio stations, someone out on deck had a radio turned up and we heard this song "Can't Get it Out of My Head". All of us thought it was a new song by Lennon (maybe even a new Beatles Reunion Song). Not to mention the 3 surviving Beatles hired Jeff to produce their 1995 single releases of one of John's long lost songs........Sorry about the long rant.
