Thank you, Hatful, for allowing us to see you get emotional. You brought back everything I felt originally. And you’re not kidding. Christina Chong is a super-talent; she can do anything. Whoever cast this show is a true MVP. Also, of note and we knew this at the time these episodes dropped - Anson Mount was allowed time off, as he and his wife had their first child. This allowed the writers to build other characters, and for me that’s a real plus.

Ah they handled the end of this episode really well. Her holding in her emotions for so long really started to get to me, and then she just let it all out. Just great stuff.

I reviewed this episode as well. I'm really liking Strange New Worlds in general and this is a particularly good episode because it does bring back the subtle story telling that the original series had. Another example for you, the symbol on Kirk's uniform is reminiscent of the Preservers obelisk on the planet where Kirk marries Miramani. Some of the story really irritated me though. Kirk calling chess idiots chess. Why did they have to make Kirk a jerk like that. Another thing, and you mentioned it, the travel time from Toronto to Vermont one way is 7 hours 20 minutes. Which is incredibly stupid on the part of the writers because we have Google maps. We can easily check these things. The writers needlessly made it an all day trip when they could have picked any other place. Buffalo New York is an hour and a half one way. Three hours travel time. A couple of hours searching out Pelia. So much easier. See you next week.

There was a mighty traffic jam and many streets were closed due to flooding 🤣🤣🤣 My other comments were posted to your vid. As I said before, the jerkiness could have been avoided.

I've watched this episode 5 times and it still gets to me. My 65 year old self gets emotional over things that never used to effect me. Must be male menopause. I like what you said about subtle storytelling. Sometimes writers realize that perceptive audiences don't need a sledgehammer over the head to understand what's going on.

Naw, when we get old, anyone 20 years younger seems adorable to us. We are just average grandparent types Also, Carol Kane helped to draw me in on the nostalgia level. I'm surprised she didn't say, "Hold my beer" at 3:44
