This is a very deep song. Throughout the whole song she’s speaking about him being a stranger but during the bridge she hints that the stranger might be her who’s making him react differently. This song is from another dimension be very careful.

She literally says “have i changed so drastically, is it i want more for me, and you remained the same”. It’s like when abusive women accept the abuse but then get a reality check and realize they deserve better than the abusive person they’re with. She’s changed and she wants someone who isn’t abusive.

Could be interpreted that way. She has changed. Ye she is the stranger. The one who has made the realization that perhaps she was settling for less than she wanted, deserve...meaning him. So, he could be reacting.

+Mrs Green i don't really think anyone on this thread gets it. it's not that you don't "know who they are", it's that they got you now. it happens to everyone unfamiliar with dating. girl tries to get a guy, looks all sexy and nice, throwing out those sexual vibes. she gets him. then she stops dressing sexy. she stops having sex with him. then he gets fucked up over it. same story, guy tries to get a girl, looking like the most perfect ass dude on the planet with infinite potential, "imma love you and take care of you and our kids" and saying and doing all this sweet shit, then he gets her. then he stops saying that shit, stops kissing her, stops touching her how she likes to be touched, stops treating her like something to be cherished.

Its been so long since Ive heard this song, I absolutely love the uniqueness of her voice and this song really got it going on. She doesn't have to do anything spectacular to get attention because her voice is spectacular alone.

I really admire Tamia! She's one of the few singers that can cause you to feel a level of pathos for her as she's lyrically and melodically communicating the song to you,

The interpretation of this song I believe is NOT about some serial killer or "whacked" individual. She's simply singing about a relationship in which her significant other has drastically changed so much in his/her relationship towards her that she doesn't know who he/she is any longer. Hence the term STRANGER. Note in the end of the lyrics, she even wants to know if it's herself?
