@@PaperGrape the very first thing they do is plug their fkn movie and production company. Obviously he’s not going to give just anyone a platform but why wouldn’t he accept payment to let someone advertise their movie as long as it’s something he approves of. Have you not seen the various commercials in the podcast? If you think Peterson isn’t going to accept payment, and rightfully so, then yes, you are naive.

I watched the interview with the Robertson’s and I was taken by the fact they are much more than what they portray in the Duck Dynasty episodes. I felt they expressed genuine feelings about their families and their personal relationships and their relationship with Christ. My main point though from the very end where you commented on how they conducted themselves with each during the interview. I actually did notice how they were not stepping on each other and were giving each other time to speak. I pray often that I will be a better listener than I am a talker. Your comment made me reflect upon my own marriage ( I lost my wife to brain cancer 8 years ago), I believe I could have allowed my wife to have more time telling her version of a situation than I probably gave because I most likely felt my version was more accurate. I always reflect on how I could have made her life experience more joyful had I had my head more in tune with biblical perspective and principles.

I can't think of a better way to spend two hours of my life than watching this video. I in the past three years have struggled with cancer, and beat it. During this process I spent a lot of time watching You Tube videos of inspiring speakers to fill myself with positive influences and keep my Spirit lifted. The Robertsons and Yours Dr. Peterson have never failed to keep me inspired and willing to fight with everything I have in me. Today I am cancer free thanks to the hand of God and the company of believers I have watched on You Tube. I am inspired to write about my life and the mentor that taught me to be a man, a father, a husband and a follower of Jesus Christ. Thank you from the depths of my heart for your example of steadfastness in the face of diverse obstacles. I am in your debt.

Children licking the food takes me back to when I, an only child, visited my Uncle's. They had 7 kids! It was culture shock for me. I remember that the children waited in line to serve ourselves buffet style. The first one in line would lick the dessert that they wanted because we didn't get dessert until after we had emptied our plate. It was so unexpected to me. But it demonstrated the nature of sibling revelry to my naive privilege.

Such a great discussion - this family is such a good model for the everyday family unit. My family has deep roots in texas but my husband's family is from Louisiana and Alabama and respect is a big deal in the southern culture - especially respecting your father and the roles we play subordinate to him. Not saying we all bow down to Dad but we all know the role of the man in the home and the effect that has on the entire family - and that is something to respect. We see that in Phil's life and the impact it has had on his family. God's grace is incredibly beautiful.

Duck Dynasty was like Green Acres but with a complete family dynamic. Everybody notices a family that sticks together because of the friction that often happens at home. There's a type of faith that says, we can make this work. People have been living vicariously through other peoples lives for a long long time. It was good to hear the behind the scenes tales from Willie and Korie.

This understanding fosters gratitude. 01:28:22 ✝️ Religious faith is the underpinning of a successful life, providing a standard of comparison and enabling gratitude even in challenging situations. 01:29:30 🎭 Faith helps people remain grounded and playful, preventing them from taking themselves too seriously, especially in the face of success, fame, or challenges. 01:30:26 📜 Living by the values of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, and self-control, as inspired by faith, shapes one's actions and interactions. 01:35:13 💪 Balancing faith enables taking oneself seriously while preventing egotism, ensuring that success doesn't lead to narcissism. 01:37:29 🎥 The upcoming film "The Blind" tells the story of redemption, illustrating that no one is too far gone, and hope can emerge even in the direst circumstances. 01:49:32 🎥 The Robertsons discuss their new film set in the 50s and 60s, receiving positive early feedback, debunking expectations of cheesiness in Christian films, and the genuine, impactful storytelling. 01:50:00 📅 "The Blinding of Isaac Woodard" releases on September 28th, showcasing the authentic portrayal of historical events. The film's impact has even impressed the Robertson children, marking it as a real, non-preachy cinematic experience. 01:51:23 📚 The Robertson family's connection with Jordan Peterson began through their son's recommendation of Peterson's books. Their mutual respect and admiration led to email exchanges, eventually culminating in a meeting at a conference. 01:53:30 💑 The Robertsons share a balanced and respectful conversation style, reflecting their strong marriage. I hate to say this but I don’t like these two. Back when Jason Aldean had a very public affair these two were seen publicly embracing and being photographed with him and his mistress/now wife. Making sure to make it perfection-ready, red carpet worthy photos. Can you imagine the heartache that did for his wife, whom they had claimed to know and be friends with? Willie even officiated Jason and his mistresses wedding. Look them up and all their star studded red carpet events they attended together. Pretty disgusting and hard to justify based on their strong Christian faith. I find them to love to be associated with celebrities under the guise of their religiosity. I know it’s a hard stance to take and I never hardly write or comment on these platforms but I do not find these two or maybe just the wife to be genuine. I am not saying this is reflective of the whole family, but they have always been on my radar of liking the limelight a little too much. P.S. I don’t believe them to be as humble as they want to lead you to believe. At least not the wife. 🤷‍♀️

There is no such thing as failure, if you learn something from the experience that makes you better. Christianity places a big emphasis on the power of love and forgiveness, and is something the world really needs right now. Bless you guys! God uses those who are weak, but the key is we are all weak in the presence of God. It is humility that allows us to surrender.

I watch a concrete KZbin channel and It struck me in a similar way to the Robertson family, Victory Outdoor Services. Good man, good crew, good family. Ups and downs, triumphs and failures as we all have, but good honest people at the helm.

all i ever heard about the duck dynasty when it first came out was a bunch of hate for it. back then i didn't understand the brewing hate mob and proto-cancel culture that was taking it's first stabs at people's backs. maybe i will try watching it later with a newer set of eyes.

Of all the many conversations that you, Jordan, have had with different people, this one is my very favorite because it touches base on different things of quality about life that we all need to take a very good look at in our own lives and consider what changes we might need to make, or even those things we thought were failures but really were not. Thanks to all of you for having this conversation for all of us who appreciate you to benefit from.

Wow Dr Peterson. I am floored that you like the Simpsons. That show was one of the strongest manipulators in western society towards the downgrading of men and fathers, turning the head of the house as set by God, into a fumbling joke. Very unfortunate!!!!!

Excellent explanation on the death of the flesh/self. ✅ This is found throughout the New Testament in the Holy Bible. ✝️ Dying to self is part of being born again; the old self dies and the new self comes to life (John 3:3-7). 🕊 Not only are Christians born again when we come to salvation, but we also continue dying to self as part of the process of sanctification. As such, dying to self is both a one-time event and a lifelong process. ✝️🕊🔥🙏❤️💯 Jesus spoke repeatedly to His disciples about taking up their cross (an instrument of death) and following Him. This was a prerequisite for being a follower of Christ, who proclaimed that trying to save our earthly lives would result in our losing our lives in the kingdom. But those who would give up their lives for His sake would find eternal life (Matthew 16:24-25; Mark 8:34-35). Indeed, Jesus even went so far as to say that those who are unwilling to sacrifice their lives for Him cannot be His disciples (Luke 14:27).✝️🕊🙏❤️💯

Perhaps Jordan’s inability to comprehend why someone wouldn’t want to sell out by playing an artificial role could derive from a complex he struggles to understand or empathize how desolate individuals without family, religion, or community of people who really matters like Korie is stating, or even physical safety, live. Simple Maslow hierarchy of needs.

From Saul to Paul, thats my middle name, Paul. A man of high stature and importance once told me, he said, "we all make mistakes." We all have flaws and we all come short of the glory of God. We are all blind until we know the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. What a blessing to know we have a saviour who loves us and teaches us. He leads the blind to see and the thirsty to living water. He restores our soul and makes us whole. When will those in power begin to see that? The Devil wants to keep us down and hide the truth from us. What would the world become if Men could be healed and turn from their wicked ways? Their is truth, and their is hope. God is real. Trust in the Lord Jesus with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your way acknowledge him and she shall direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6

Seeing Dr. Peterson laughing is a relief, because we don't see much of it, but that's absolutely not a reason to believe he's not got a fun, happy, smiling side! Also, his interest is in humanity (imo) and not just in a specific type or group of people. ❤

I love the way Willie and Korie as the born again believers that they are, explained about success amongst the many other topics they discussed. Prayerfully Jordan will consider their Godly wisdom and someday himself totally surrender to the King of kings and Lord of lords!!
