They would be *insane* to recast any of those kids. They're really good. You do not find good kid actors easily. Plus, at this point, people are just as much in love with the cast as they are the characters. Will's actor (Noah Schnapp) didn't get much of a chance to shine, but he's damn good too. You can see him in a bunch of other things-- he was in Bridge of Spies with Tom Hanks, and he's in Panic at the Disco's _LA Devotee_ video getting satanized or something.

The reason Will wasn't as far along as Barb in the monster's process was because while Will was taken in episode 1, he hid from the monster until the end of episode 7. Barb, on the other hand, was taken at the end of episode 2 and captured in the Upside Down right at the beginning of episode 3. The first season covers roughly one week, so Barb had approximately six days for the monster to do whatever it does to people it captures, whereas Will was only under it's control for a few hours.

Based on the scenes with Hopper and his daughter (where they kept cutting to specific moments of her with life support tubes in her mouth vs Will with the creature in his mouth), I'm wondering if we're going to learn that Hopper saw his daughter suffering from cancer and decided to pull her life support. It juxtaposes well with him ripping out Will's and might explain why he's having extra difficulty focusing the last few episodes. Might just be me, but I feel like they're hiding something in plain sight there.

I'm left wondering whether Will is imagining things due to PTSD or the upside-down is still out to get him. I do wonder how Will survived and Barb didn't, unless it was just a matter of luck and timing. I'm quite bothered by the implication that Hopper is cooperating with the enemy. If I didn't know any better (if I was only hearing this video and not seeing what it was you guys were reacting to), I would have had the impression you were watching a comedy. I think there are multiple monsters, and now with Will gone, one of them is missing their babies. What if the demogorgon tries to find Will to get its slugs back? I have a belief that they are asexual as well, since it doesn't seem like they have reproductive organs - they regurgitate their offspring, and put them in incubators of some kind (be it egg or human species).

Everyone compared this to Steven King meets Stephen Spielberg, which is fair, but to me it seemed like a HP Lovecraft meets Michael Crichton. Hopper is a text book Crichton protagonist, as well as the tying real government or corporate projects into science fiction, and Lovecraft basically invented interdimensional horror.

A brazilian guy made this two theories and I loved. When she touched the monster in the dark room created a chaos in time. The upside down might have been like that if the portal grew up all over thr city. The second theory it's most shoking... El is the monster. She was not always the monster but the sacrifice at the end of the season, she finds his destiny as in a time loop and joins her future. And also... the monster is female (remember the egg in the upside down?) and the demogorgon has two heads (symbolizing the duality between the monster and El).
