Tbf Will wasnt acting out because his friends were growing up, he was lashing out because he pretty much lost his childhood thx to the upside down. He lives in a constant fear of being mind controled, tortured or killed. Not to mention that after he puked out that slime from the upside down, who could blame him for wanting to stay inside his safe space for a bit longer. Also while every1 else was growing up during those battles with the upside down, Will was pretty much in a coma as he barelly had any control over his body. He is mentally the same kid from season 1 while the rest is in a completly different place.

I just watch stranger things, and honestly i can relate to will. idk if it's normal or not. I mean i'm not losing my childhood or anything. But, in my second year of college, i was crying and upset because my friends didn't want to play werewolf with me. And i even mad at my self, realizing that i'am too childish....

I felt so bad for Will in this episode. Poor guy was snatched to another dimension by a monster, believed to have been killed, implanted with slugs and nearly actually dying, brought back only to have flashes where he's stuck in the other world, and possessed by an evil extradimensional elder brain monstrosity and forced to sabotage and nearly kill his friends and family (and actually being partially responsible for the death of Bon Newby: Superhero, who was actually really good to him). Not even counting the bullying he's had to endure at school both before and after his disappearance. And now that the gang is finally back together and there is some normalcy in their lives, two of his friends are more concerned with two girls he's not even remotely as close to or familiar with as the rest of the group and just generally feeling like the group is drifting apart. He's missed missed about 2 years of any semblance of normal childhood with all the shit that happened to him and, as soon as it calms down, it's like all of his friends have already moved on. Poor Will, man.

Joe Victor I enjoyed Season Two and it was obviously very well received with critics and fans regardless, but I think after a while that one episode left a sour taste in some people’s mouths. The Duffers talked about Netflix giving them way less time for writing back then (they wanted to rewrite a good portion of the half-end of the season but literally didn’t have the time).
@joevictor53
@joevictor53 5 жыл бұрын
Jeremiah Brown I mean I did enjoy it cause of the actors and their performances. But yeah it was loved by most critics and fans and I can see why. I'm rewatching the show with my mum and I enjoyed season 1 and I'm looking forward to season 3 again but I don't feel the same way about 2. I didn't actually know that about Netflix not giving them enough time. Hopefully that won't be a problem in the future but I do see Netflix's point cause these are kids. They grow up fast
@Jeremiah8rown

Joe Victor Yeah exactly. They were trying to push through seasons to account for the kid’s growth. They gave them more writing time for S3.

As a D&D nerd, this season actually portrays the Mind Flayer much more like a mind flayer from D&D, right down to working through thralls and using them to bring more unsuspecting victims to the flayer's lair. Obviously no straight up devouring brains or outer space origins, but basic M.O. and characterization as much more insidious and cunning is pretty on point.
@ciarantc7881
@ciarantc7881 5 жыл бұрын
Even the MF's origin is kinda similar to his D&D one, he may not be from space but it is from outside of Earth as we know it and *SPOILERS* He does sort of do the brain eating thing when he consumes the residents of Hawkins to build his anti-Eleven monster

I know compared to what else happens this season, this episode might not seem like much but this is one of my favorite in the series for some reason. It was a huge "WTF?" in the best way. I loved the horror and mystery elements in this one between Nancy trying to figure out what's going on and El and Max trying to find out what's up with Billy. That scene between Will and Mike was so tense, I really felt for Will here. I was also pretty annoyed with how Hopper was treating Joyce. I know she was too distracted with the magnet situation but her boyfriend died not even a year ago and her son barely survived two major incidents. I think he should give her a break.

I also didn't want it to show us Bob's death in its entirety, but after further thought I really appreciate that they did, because Joyce was having a flashback, and flashbacks aren't nice to you and they don't care if you'd rather not relive that moment again.

Another interesting thing is that Eleven kinda got scaled back on her powers, both in how powerful she is (freaking Dark Phoenix last season) and how much focus was given to her vs. the full cast. I still wish Mr. Clark had an even bigger part just from his season 1 setup, but whatever.
@katwebbxo
@katwebbxo 5 жыл бұрын
Same about Mr. Clarke. Maybe El got scaled back because of how much power it took to close the gate in S2. Could be because she still needs time to recover or she doesn't want to use so much at one time.

considering everything that's happened its completely ridiculous why hopper isn't on instant red alert when joyce comes over freaking out about the magnets. they had 2 seasons worth of really weird fucked up shit happen and they decide to be skeptics. its not just hopper though, they write these into several characters reactions such as Max or Jonathan. but i understand they do this intentionally for some reason or another. it kind of just takes away from the immersion when really, every one of these people should be super paranoid like joyce is, given the knowledge and experience they have within the past 2 seasons.

as much as i love hopper, he was displaying really toxic behavior regarding joyce and other men. it actually made me so stressed from remembering dealing with that kind of behavior i got sick to my stomach, and i found out that i wasn't the only one. thank goodness he recognized it and changed it because if he'd kept after joyce in that angry hurt jealous crap that he actually had no right to put on her i would have stopped liking him completely. joyce had valid reasons to stand him up. my god, the creature that attacked her son twice was returning and she recognized it. hop started thie whole gaslighting thing with her (you are behaving this way because you can't move on. there's nothing going on. your imagination) and quite a few fans of the show did some very interesting pieces regarding how prevalent that was in the 80's. jonathan was also doing something very close to the same thing. but the women were right, and the duffer brothers did an excellent job of showcasing this behavior and validating the women while redeeming the perpetrators. it's funny, because it seems the only people really being hinest (besides our sweet dustin) were the ones on truth serum. irony much? except for murray, who is always directly, brutally, and hilariously honest.

People keep saying they are annoyed with the stereotypical Russian bad guys, yet at the time that's how it was. Having grown up in the 80’s, I can say that's how it was, but the way they are portraying them is more like a caricature. In 1985, when this is taking place, there was a leak in the CIA that the Soviets used to ‘arrest’ dozens of agents throughout the world that ended with the execution of at least 10 of them. While having the Russians be the bad guy, seems like a trope to you, the truth is the Soviets were doing some shady shit.

When he got the urge to bash Mrs. Wheeler’s head into the shelf at the pool, he fought it and told her to stay away. When Heather was asking him if he was okay in the shower, he was trying to fight the urge to choke her. Idk, I think it’s a nice touch to have him try and stop himself from attacking people since he was such a violent asshole last season...

I just checked their channel and it was blocked by Netflix for copyright reasons. Other Season 1 episodes are not blocked.

Ismael Silva no one said he is... Noah Schnapp said to leave it to the viewer to draw their own conclusions... Joyce in the first episode said Lonnie thought he’s gay because he is a child in touch with his feelings, but on the other hand it was implied to be about wanting to play d&d with them...

Chloroform doesn't work like in the movies. I like the "all black" scenes. They remind me of the ScarJo movie, "Under the Skin"

None of the Normies parents(or had to take care of much younger siblings) I take it since none got mad when Max was rude to Hopper like I've seen in other reactions channels.
