Love this; it's such a joy rewatching with you guys. A little D&D insight: Yep, it's pretty much a storytelling game! Eddie is the Dungeon Master (DM), so he sets up and guides them through the story. The rest of the players all have characters with certain stats (strength, intelligence, charm, etc.). When things happen (you meet a monster or something), you roll the dice (which represent luck/chance), combine that with your character stats, and that determines whether you win or lose. Eddie (the DM) makes it challenging for the players, but ultimately he does want them to defeat the monsters and win.

Also- just a side note, you said the Eddie was being a good sport as thr DM. Though there are some DMs who get bitter, the best DMs understand that it is not the DM vs the players, but rather it is the DM facilitating the players. DnD is alot of fun, you should find a DM and play some
