@@LeslieLove It's a very tricky job, the films I've worked on use a location department who over time have less locations to pick from. They get wedged between the cost of using a location and if it can be locked down. I live in Sydney that use to be the place Hollywood would see as the easy & cheap city to get access to. The big lockdown of streets done during say Matrix back in 1998 would be very difficult to do today. A lot of land owners don't want the circus that shooting crews create. Film crews are like little tornado's. They always leave a trail of destruction.

@@leokimvideo wow that’s very interesting, I read an article from a film location scout who said the job is not as easy or as awesome as most would think, that it takes a lot of work. I can’t imagine having to get permits for everything sounds like a pain in the butt. Do you still do it?

@@LeslieLove I work in a different department but I know the anguish that the locations department go through. Dealing with greedy landowners, strict local council laws, angry neighbours and more recently the liability legal element of using a location. Example is a location that may have asbestos or chemical contamination that get found after a film uses a location. A film thats going to use say guns or explosives is something that makes finding a suitable location even harder. Here's the location where Hacksaw Ridge was filmed, it required a remote, private parcel of land that could be dug up to build a war scene but still be close enough to Sydney to work. -33.968715002141856, 150.7145593545118

@@LeslieLove Here's the giant vehicle test road used for the trials of Mad Max Fury Road in 2010. This road is still visible and took an enormous amount of earth moving to establish. Problem was this location was a mud bath and green after record rains, the film then moved to Africa. -31.850439, 141.180625

I grew up in Palmetto GA that pigglywiggly was always called Bradley's we never really got grocery from there did most of our shopping in the next town up Fairburn. I remember going to that coin laundry and the car wash across the street with my mom and grandma as a child. It's pretty awesome seeing places of my childhood in a popular show like stranger things. Thanks for giving a tour and bringing back memories.

Btw the current public works building in Douglasville is the police station. Also, the palace arcade is a second location... the far end was used as the video store.

Thank you so much! That I couldn’t answer you with great detail. Some are close to one another and some are not. I remember the restaurant where Eleven first comes on screen in season one is close to where they filmed the cabin scenes. I suggest goggling stranger things filming locations and all the addresses will come up. Then use goggle maps and put them all in so we can get an accurate distance of each.

If you want a picture of the exteriors then yes, but I wasn’t able to get in where they filmed. I even asked and the employees didn’t even know anything had filmed there. You never k kw though, you may get lucky and somehow find a way to get in. Have fun!

A couple of things: A. It is weird that they have kept the Starcourt Mall location blocked off. THey have allowed some locations to be really changed (Melvalds store or the Hawkins police station). This suggests to me that they are finished with the police station and Melvalds but plan to use the Starcourt mall set again. B. In Jackson, you were about a block away from the Radio Shack/Melvalds location, but the buildings you showed on your video were not the right ones. C. Will Byers house is 149 Coastline Road, Fayetteville, GA if you ever go back.

Note that Melvald's is on the corner - the building you indicated is not on the corner. From about 27:00 to about 27:30 in your video, you were standing right in front of Melvald's former location.

@@LeslieLove I reviewed your footage again! I believe (changing the subject slightly) that you have made a MAJOR discovery about season 4. In season 4, the kids will be out of middle school and in high school (and El and Will Byers have moved away). But from about 13:12 to about 13:25 you show the "Hawkins Middle School Student Drop off" sign - this sign was used in the very first episode but was then taken down - you have documented that it has now been set up again! In your video, you can actually see the fresh dirt where the sign was recently planted in the ground. This means that Hawkins Middle School will be back in season 4 -- but who is going to be in the middle school??? How about Erica? they only used ONE building for the store. It can be seen in your video at about 28:08 -- you have a shot of Joyce driving up. Notice it is on the corner - there is no building to the viewer's right from the store. At 28:33, you pointed out the building which was used for the theater and indicated that the Melvald's Store and the Radio Shack were next door....but notice that this means that the store would have a building to the viewer's right, and would not be on the corner. At 26:57 you were standing directly in front of the building that was actually used as the Melvald's Store (and the Radio Shack). The Melvald's store location is now a Domino's (?) pizza place.

They shot a scene in my neighborhood as well I don't know what season but when they was riding the bicycles throwing the newspapers out here in Stockbridge / morrow they paid most of our whole street they paint the mailbox and change the address to the homes but I never seen it on tv Newspapers 🗞️ if you familiar with that scene let me know which season and episode
