As someone who is into filmmaking and someone who was on the set of the screenshot you used outside... you nailed it. They do everything you did, just with larger equipment. PEOPLE, you don't NEED expensive equipment to get beautiful visuals. It just takes more work with a smaller crew or for yourself. That's the only main difference other than more dynamic range.

This was excellent. The advanced grading tutorial combined with the fact that you shot the scenes, all delivered in a clear way shows you know your stuff. I wonder how you've grown in the last 2 years. A lot I imagine!

I love the shoot and grade idea. Hardly anyone on KZbin shows the whole process. You’re totally right about grading your own footage to match a grade you saw online - doesn’t work unless you shot it to match the footage too.

Thank you Avery Peck! Your tutorials, this one and the skin tutorial have been very helpful. Skin tones have been a mystery to me, you've done a fine job explaining how to approach the skin using midtones, highlights and shadows and how they interact. You have also made me a big fan of Resolve which because of your tutorials I ended up purchased the full version switching away from Premiere Pro for grading. Glad I found your channel and look forward to your next offering.

I just shot a micro film yesterday using the BlackMagic URSA Mini 4.6k for my first time and I'm so pumped that I have these tutorials to reference when it comes time to grade them tomorrow! You seriously rock man!

Thank you SO MUCH, for not being one of those "Grading Tutorials" where all they do is apply a Luts and skip all of the important color decisions, and basically explain things with zero fundament, great material, suscribed.

This is my new favorite channel. I've been avoiding trying Davinci as premiere just feels more convenient for vlog editing, but after watching this, it seems so much more powerful so I should probably give it a try.

Thanks Connor! It'll probably feel like a lot of work at first, but I can promise you the results will be worth it! Resolve is a far better tool for coloring than Premiere once you get a handle on the process.

Best DR color videos I have seen. I am learning a lot. I like when you show 2 or 3 versions on the same shot. I like the styled looks but also want to learn more about clean grades that might fit basic commercial work. Great job, keep it going!

Not that you asked for my opinion but mine would be to keep doing videos just like this (different popular shows and films) and keep this same format/style you did in this video for every series. Can you do a tutorial on how to light moving subjects? Subjects that are walking across a room, walking through a house, walking outside across the street, etc. Would be a HUGE help. It's the only limit I meet in filming short films
