Everyone has to start somewhere. I think back to when actors react to their first auditions and oh, do they cringe 😂 you’re going to mess up and you’re going to have moments like those actors where you wonder “what was I thinking, acting like that?”. Just work on improving and cut yourself some slack, especially when you’re beginning. You’re not going to be perfect but you can try to be decent. Edit: adding onto what the others have said, look for acting classes and join theatre if you’re able. Or, pick up a script from a movie, chose a scene you want to do, and practice it. To make it a bit more fun, do it while the movie is playing. See how you vary with the actual actor(s) on screen. Just have fun with it ☺️

Take an acting class! Then start with small things, like community theatre and student films! You can find casting calls on websites like backstage and la casting! They do cost money but are great legitimate casting websites. Then get a headshot and keep auditioning and training! And don’t give up! Read the book The Actors Life by Jenna Fischer, it’s really helpful. And keep practicing acting!

I love Millie, she is my idol and i look up to her. I’m going to acting school to peruse my passion(acting of course). She is my favorite actress of all time. The best advice would to take this career path smartly. As there is huge amounts of luck involved and today nepotism. My own topic this week for my own subscribers was how to pursue this smartly. Some of you out there (including this writer and vlogger) have the artist aspiration. You have been told by the very few who made it to believe in yourself and never give up. Well the simply fact is the arts are very different than any other profession. Because usually--someone else has to let you in. Now what I would tell you if you are 18 or 40 and feel that your destiny is in the arts? I would not tell you to just stay the "safe route" and give up on your dreams. I would tell you to pursue the artist aspiration smartly. Get another trade that you at least like. So the agents of industry never have you by the throat. You have to go to work anyway so you might as well have the job that pays well. I never went through the starving artist phase. I went through a starving student phase. So when I finally did pursue the artist endeavor I did it with a job I also like that contracts for 100K a year and four month vacations in Europe. That's how you go through being a starving artist. You don't starve at all. Hope this helps someone---Charles

Yesterday I was seeing something about paths & all that, but this one hit me hard. "What is your dream job?", I have 2, Architect & a Actor. As an Architect, well, this doesn't belong here lol As an Actor, I'm lost & don't know if I should pursue it. I don't want to become an actor just because of ST, I have fun acting. Also, I act, but as myself, I know my emotions & know how I would act in certain occasions, & people believe me; But as another character? I feel like I can't potray the character well enough. Also, I think I'm cringy when I act as another person. Btw I'm turning 16

I feel the same way you do i want to be an actor because its been my dream job for a long time but i always get anxiety when i want to do it i feel like im not good enough and that people will laugh at me for trying. Im 16 aswell

I am just now realizing how much emotion and heart I can put into my acting I want to start this journey but everyone I’ve told so far doesn’t think I can do it or it’s just a faze but I really want this for myself. If anyone can give me advice that would be so kind❤️
