We don’t want this to be happening anymore. It’s like being stuck in a nightmare we can’t end and it’s likely going to get worse before it gets better. The Republican Party sold their soul to the NRA. Three or four decades ago they were normal, with their share of problems but part of a functioning system. Now they’re extremist. All issues are black and white for them with no middle ground. The NRA also started out in the late 1800s as a gun safety club which is super ironic now.

Today, I watched my 6 year old graduate from kindergarten. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and feelings for me. Like any proud parent, I was filled with joy when she received praise for honor roll but at the same time, my gut and heart hurt when I thought of Uvalde during the ceremony. I live in a Hispanic community called Hialeah, FL. The Uvalde tragedy hits home for us here in Miami Dade County. Grown men at work, fathers discuss this with tears in their eyes. It may sound juvenile, but I wish I had special powers, snap my fingers and make the world a better place. Rest in peace little ones. To the parents, my heart cries with you. Peace and Love.
