It’s very difficult to build a rapport with someone who you know did these terrible things. You have to show empathy to these people. When I worked at the jail as a nurse, I always treated the inmates with respect and compassion because, firstly it was my job and to be honest, if there was ever a riot, I wanted those inmates to see me as a real person, just like I saw them. The one inmate I still treated politely but honestly I was very repulsed by was a man who killed 2 young people and was on death row. He came to the jail for court appearances and left in about a week to go back to prison.

He definitely did his homework. A good detective does multiple interviews with witnesses and does thorough background on the perps background before the perps even knows they're suspected. This one knew all about the abuse he suffered, knew he liked knives and bikes and bondage. The ex of course. Then again, X had access to his DNA, knew his routine, knew all about his abuse, and priors. An X would never attempt to frame the spouse they cheated on to maybe, idk, validate themselves for their abuse. But I'm very certain that Det here ensured that there's no funny business with the X. I mean she's the catalyst after all.

The kind of world we live in now unfortunately. Our justice systems are broken these days and from all categories. Criminal, family, federal and all others. It’s scary to think of crooked people being in such high positions and having our kids and our freedom in their hands to do as they please!!! It’s scary. And it happens every day. So many innocent people in prison, kids being taken from good homes, kids dying in foster care and much much more. It’s a sad and dark world we are in today!!! And the worst part is if you truly didn’t do anything wrong but they slam the book at you or flip your life upside down or take your kids, it’s damn near impossible to get out of it and don’t ever bank on the system admitting they were wrong and fix it. Seriously, I wonder how his daughter feels knowing now that her dad is a sexual predator and murderer. "Miller entered a plea of “not guilty” to the charges against him, citing reasons of insanity. The prosecutors argued that his actions stemmed from his desire. They quoted his consumption of violent porn, “the BDSM sex he engaged in with his ex-wife,” and the document he wrote as a teenager detailing his desire to rape, mutilate and kidnap a girl as an indication of his true character. They alleged that Miller attacked both women alone in the dark while they were riding their bikes along the Arizona Canal, stabbed them in the back, and sexually assaulted them as they were dying or after they were dead."

One thing people don't understand though is being read your rights is not standard unless you're a suspect. So if you're ever being questioned by cops for a witness statement or something and they tell you they HAVE to read you your rights, the smartest thing to do is lawyer up, even if you didn't do anything wrong. This is an almost flawless interrogation and definitely the cleanest interview I've ever seen. The Detectives entire interview flowed from the introduction to the end, seamlessly. This is a perfect example between big city (Phoenix) and small city Detectives. This Detective is clearly well educated and very experienced. You see these interrogations with small city Detectives that constantly stop, leave the office multiple times, fumble words and even get called out for their fabricated "knowledge". Not there fault, they just don't have the experience, education and support needed.
@stevebennett15849 ай бұрын
Experience in anything is gained by the ''doing'' and by then applying lessons learned as one improves. Using your terms..."'big city'' detectives have many more interview opportunities to hone their techniques versus ''small city'' ones and thus will be perhaps seen as less ''polished'' in their procedures. Just my input.
