Hi..this is a cute dino tail..I was wondering if anyone 'stuffed' the spikes to make them stand up better.....or would they be too heavy and fall over?

I know this is quite old however I am hoping someone may see my question and answer it. I have been recruited to make a dino costume for my granddaughter who will turn 2 the week after Halloween. She lives out of town so I can not use her to measure tail length before completing it. As the tutorials seem to be for children around 3-6 I was wondering about adjusting the length of the tail so it doesn't drag too much on ground and possibly trip another trick or treater . Should I shorten the tail and if so by how much? Thank you in advance

You can shave off 8 inches or so but as my children wear the tail if its placed properly on the hips or sticks out rather then drag on the floor, son was 1 or 2 when he started wearing this and it never dragged on the floor so I wouldnt be too worried:)
