Encuentro is just 10 minutes downwind of the crowded Cabarete beaches. During Christmas weekend the spot offered perfect conditions for Strapless Kitesurfing, with big waves, and no one else on the water!

AP Visuals...when is the beast time of the year for big sets and wind? I was there in March 2016 and it wasn't that big...want to go back, so what's best...thanks....sic video

Its kind of a hit or miss but swells tend to be best December, January, and February. During those months your odds of getting good waves are quite high, there is usually 2 meters almost everyday sometimes a lot bigger. Glad you enjoyed the video, maybe i'll see you on the reef next winter!

Yes it is a beautifull place. I have been there for 1 month in February 2016 but got only like 5 days with wind there form 9m or 10m kite. Waves were smaller but good. There might be years with better wind next time.
