Strasburg 90 and 89 - Hands on the Throttle - April 1, 2023

Hello everyone and welcome back! Today ‪@CRBTrains‬and I are at Strasburg yet again for a special event with engine number 90, the In-Cab Experience, also known as Hands on the Throttle!
At this special event, guests had the chance to drive the most powerful Strasburg steam engine, Decapod number 90. The 2-10-0 Decapod was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1924, making her 99 years old. She served on Colorado's Great Western Railway until 1967, when Strasburg purchased the engine.
Today we'll watch as 90 travels on the eastern portion of Strasburg's line, and since number 89 was pulling the regular hourly trains, there'll be some great moments with her as well.

@@YellowNoseProductions I was at Strasburg on April 1st and rode the 12pm train on 89, Railfanned 90 at Paradise and saw the Amtrak Pennsylvanians 43 and 42, and Pennsylvanian 43 has Phase 2 P42DC 130 Heritage Unit leading and it blew the horn. I had fun. And also Nice video.

Thanks! I noticed that too. There were some people watching 89 but not so much for 90. Some people apparently freaked out when 90 came to the station and people realized she was running at all 😂

What days does hands on the throttle go on though I’m planning a trip there for my 20th birthday I’m from Michigan and I always wanted to visit that railroad
