Strasburg Rail Road 89: Memorial Day Weekend 2024

No visit to PA is complete without stopping by the Strasburg Rail Road in Strasburg, Pa! On the way home to Va from chasing the first Reading & Northern 2102 Ramble of the year, Dad and I decided to stop in and check on former Canadian National 2-6-0 #89 under steam. It had been several years since our last visit to the SRC, and it never disappoints. The whistle on 89 is a 6 chime, although I was not able to completely identify it (could be IC). I was there last weekend at the Strasburg railroad

One of the few Canadian Steam Locomotives in operation as of 2024. I have got to see this steam locomotive in operation at the Strasburg Railroad back in June 26th 2023 during Day out with Thomas there along with the Strasburg Railroad Thomas the Tank Engine (A.K.A Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal #15) and Strasburg Railroad Cagney No. 3. It’s also the first Canadian Steam Locomotive I saw in operation and then the next was Canadian Pacific 2816, I hope to see more Canadian Steam Locomotives in operation in the future even the ones that will return to service like Canadian Pacific 1246.
