"its a feel thing" I totally agree..thatsway I did risk and gave my Fender CS strat a CRYO Tuning and results are amazing: guitar really feels and sounds amazing: enhanced resonance, balanced/rounded vintage sound! I love my strat!!! :)

I have to say, Macmull guitars are probably the best solid body guitars. You really have to just play one to understand. Even in this demo you can hear how much more open it sounds compared to the fender.

Great video. I love Steve and have watched him for several years. Never boring. Good jam session. Glad I got to see it. Macmull's sound great, but the Fender has it beat. No question to me.

I'm not too keen on the Macmull headstock, which I find too straight for a guitar otherwise defined by curves. I really like the Harley Benton headstock they made for their ST models and I love the new, softened Ibanez AZ headstock. I cannot stand the large Fender headstock from the 60s/70s, which looks overgrown.
@clemensmoeller45496 жыл бұрын
Leo of Red Keep Esp has some strat headstocks that looks very similar to fender ones (on the sn series) but is a bit more straight. That's probably my favourite one.
@Leo_ofRedKeep6 жыл бұрын
Yes, they look quite good: www.thomann.de/de/esp_ltd_sn_200fr_rosewood_blk.htm

It's funny how different people love or hate things. I can't get my head around the Suhr headstock
@Leo_ofRedKeep6 жыл бұрын
It is indeed. As first I thought it was fine, simple, elegant, with just the amount of curve needed but then it also felt a little plain and just a touch too wide when seen together with the whole instrument: www.thomann.de/de/suhr_classic_pro_st_sss_rw_3ts.htm The Ibanez AZ has almost the same shape but thinner and it works better for me: www.thomann.de/de/ibanez_az2402_tff.htm?ref=search_prv_7

Headstock on the Macmull looks like a generic partscaster headstock right out of the box.
@TheGuitarGeek6 жыл бұрын
I see your point but i find it elegant

Both nice sounding guitars but it's the Ibanez AZ hss for me.
@TheGuitarGeek6 жыл бұрын
That's fantastic.
@droliver6 жыл бұрын
Are either of these really worth $5000+ ? For a contemporary solid body electric, that's an awful lot to ask for a guitar. Are they 10x then a Mexican strat? 4x better then an american Strat? 2.5x better then a Suhr?
@TheGuitarGeek6 жыл бұрын
That's hard to answer except, play them and find out for yourself
@colinfreeman74616 жыл бұрын
That McMull headstock is unnecessarily horrendous. I had one similar that I desecrated badly just so it wouldn't look like that!
