Great video, thank yoU! Sugar is my trigger, but salt is definitely not friends with me. I appreciate the tips!

No problem! Sugar is another big one too, and way more difficult to cut out of your diet in my opinion. I would make a video on cutting sugar but it's something I've never really been able to do successfully lol.

KIND brand has some good low sodium, low sugar, low glycemic options. I especially like the oat and honey with toasted coconut granola over shredded wheat cereal (sometimes also add unsalted roasted sunflower kernels) or their raspberry chia breakfast bar for breakfast or snacking.

Fast food is very hard to find something to eat low sodium, but a lot of fast casual restaurants don't season until they cook so you can ask them to not add salt. So you can have a burger and fries and ask them to not season the burger patty or the fries (which at these restaurants are cooked to order and not tossed in a bin of salt under a lamp as soon as they are done cooking). Also no cheese or pickles on your burger. Waffle House is my favorite for when traveling. They seem to often be near the hotel/motel. I usually get 2 eggs/toast/hashbrowns for breakfast and burger/hashbrowns for lunch. Make sure to ask for unseasoned/unsalted/no butter. You mentioned lemon juice, vinegar works the same way. If you want to add condiments, I suggest hot sauce or mustard which have vinegar in them so a little bit gives a big punch.

Sushi is a good low sodium option. Traditionally they don't put any sauces on and just have soy sauce for dipping (which I don't use), but some places put sauces so always make sure to ask when ordering if it's not clear on the menu and ask for them to leave it off. And yes, you can get sushi that doesn't have raw fish in it. Also if they have a Jason's Deli in your area, they have the best salad bar. They have hard boiled eggs on the bar which is great for adding some protein.

Hey Cillana, those are all great tips! I definitely had a lot more things to cover but the video was already 11 minutes long so I decided to stick with the basics. Maybe I'll do a part 2 at some point.

Thank you, thank you for doing these videos. No one I know has ever heard of this and I feel really alone in this. A few drs have thought this may be what I have based on my symptoms but I'm still going thru testing, mris, etc so we'll see. I think I have it. These stories from people on your channel sound all too familiar. Thanks again :)

Hi Glenn - Great video hope all is well with you. I haven't had to contact you lately been doing a lot better hope you are well too. I have to be very careful with sodium. I cant go over 800 mg a day or I suffer. Its been hard but I've adapted well. Thanks for all your continued help. Nancy Torres

Hi Nancy, things have been pretty good. Wow 800mg seems really low, but if your doctor recommended it and it's helping that's great!

+Mind Over Meniere's Well Glenn this is my own doings because if I go higher than that I get dizzy or a headache. Fast food is out-of my diet now it killed me but every time I break down and eat it I'm sick the next day so now I live without it.

I am sure I am asking the obvious...but what about sea or Celtic salt.
@MindOverMenieres7 жыл бұрын
Sea salt has just about the same sodium content as table salt, Celtic and pink Himalayan sea salt too unfortunately.

Do you ever have a beer or social drink or did you stop alcohol completely?
@MindOverMenieres7 жыл бұрын
I don't drink alcohol anymore. But I do drink kava, which is a nice alternative. But like I commented on your other post, it depends on the person. If alcohol triggers you, you shouldn't drink it. If you can have a drink or two and not feel worse, that's great! You'll have to test it a bit. And also realize that even if it triggers you now, it may not trigger you in the future.
