Putting well-earned money into the stock market can be over emphasized for first-time investors, unlike a bank where interest is sure thing! Well, basically times are uncertain, the market is out of control, and banks are gradually failing. I am working on a ballpark estimate of $5M for retirement, and I have a good 6-figure loaded up for this, could there be any opportunity for a boomer like me? I'm nearly 60.

It's a good idea to seek advice at the moment, unless you're an expert yourself. As someone who runs a service business and sells products on eBay, I can tell you that the economy is struggling and many people are struggling financially.

It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. I researched and found a licensed advisor who diligently helped grow my reserves despite inflation. Consequently, my reserves increased from $275k to around $750k.

Well, there are a few out there who know what they are doing. I tried a few in the past years, but I’ve been with Margaret Johnson Arndt for the last five years or so, and her returns have been pretty much amazing.

Thanks for the advice. The search for your coach was simple. I investigated her well before using her services. Considering her résumé, she appears competent.

U.S. stock futures rose last Tuesday as equities were buoyed by a sharp decline in bond yields, while earnings from some of the largest technology companies loomed in economic data. renewed buying strength in markets in September and October. I want to invest more than $300k, but I'm not sure on how to mitigate risk.

Predicting short-term market movements is extremely difficult in reality. It also essentially requires the investor to be right twice: they must perfectly time both their entrance to and exit from the market.

Good interview. But there is no way a large percentage of people have 13k+ sitting in their checking account. Bank of America is selecting the higher middle class data for that number.

Great show, Guy & Dan! Yes, Mr. Moynahan said that his customers are prepared to weather the economic storm. However, his customers are not necessarily representative of the average US citizen because Bank of America placed their physical bank branches in prosperous areas so as to ensure greater profitability. Therefore, Mr. Moynahan has no idea how citizens are faring in the less prosperous areas that do not have a Bank of America branch.

The average person might have $13k in their bank account but the median is more like $2k. Amazing that no one gets that. The majority of people are living paycheck to paycheck and have very little saved.

BYD is outselling Tesla because hybrids and plugins count a EVs in those stats. I'd have hoped market commentator could differentiate that. Not that I'm a TSLA bull, but it needs context when just rattling off a statistic.

It’s crazy to think that every day comes with bad news & the market doesn’t break……something has definitely changed……you go back & look at CPI days that exceeded expectations on the upside and markets would b down 2-3%
