found this video today. It is like you said int he first part. it completley changed me! I always wanted to draw Disney style, to add more rhythm to my drawings but i never understood how to do it. Thank you so much for this video. I will buy the books asap!!!

Nice, gesture is movement, force is masses colliding, stacking one another, thank u

I so appreciate these force vids. I’m super excited to return to live model figure drawing sessions and just practice force. I saw Glen Vilpu draw like this and it was beautiful but he explained nothing to my my understanding. Thank you for something good to practice towards my goal of beautiful (vitality full) art. I will tree this with trees also. Trees are a living thing and their growth responds to gravity and light so the force and opposing the force must be there too. Happy New Year, Mike.

5:00 The last side of that page looks a LOT like what I randomly doodle in my notebook when I'm bored as heck during class. I was doing all of this subconciously and I never even knew

Does directional force always lead to the arch(merging into applied force) or can it also merge with other directional forces /lines? When is a rhythm considered broken?

but not all poses has this forses. what about static almost symmetrical poses?
@othmaneeljacfi3747
@othmaneeljacfi3747 7 жыл бұрын
what you can do to feel the force(bad joke X'D) is to stand and do the pose your self, if it's not a dynamic pose, stand and do it it's makes it easier to spot the flow of it

theirs always exceptions to every rule, this is a tool to help you understand what your seeing and get an idea across, but who wants to draw dry static symmetrical poses? thats been boring since the greeks discovered contrapposto.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand how he came up with that line trajectory? I've tried practicing this and the words he used in the video didn't help me "get" what he was doing

Study some Yoga to get the feeling. Go to some classes. You will feel it. The change of force as you move and position your body. You can’t understand it if you never experienced it. The screen is a great teacher but only if you have sensory info from real life.

He ought to start with a basic, simple “example” and expand on that. Anyone know of a channel that explains this idea a little more quickly? It just seems like a ton of words going nowhere. Is it so complicated that there is no simple example, say one arm flexing? I’m gonna keep going bc I do want to know if this is useful and why. Ok, two videos now, and he still makes no sense. I have a doctorate in Physics and I don’t get it unless when he says FORCE he really means “flow”. Is that it?

Socrates No he doesn’t. I watched his vid. His gestures are absolutely amazing looking but not enough explanation of how and why. No physics at all.

Socrates uh, you mad because you can’t get it? This is fabulously explained with so much more detail and interest than any other gesture drawing video. I believe that you have become very comfortable in the snooty and bored individual role. You feel great there. Good luck with that role 😂
