Fantastic restoration, really well done. Great to see an old Strat being brought back to life. Stunning! I used to have a 1988 sunburst model 3 version of this guitar with the Kahler Spyder trem. Pure awesomeness.

Loved the restoration and putting it back new. I have an '86 MIJ Strat with the System One trem. I love it more than my G&L USA & American Strat.

I've got an '85 MIJ Strat with an S1 trem. Candy apple red, just like yours. It's a great guitar and I'm never selling it (I bought it new back when I was in college).

Wow! What a great job! I'm about to buy an E76 MiJ Fender HSS, with the same Mahler bridge. I'm afraid it will not be fixable and maybe also the locking on the palette are gone. If I'll buy it, I will put some locking tuners but for the bridge, I got no options, unfortunately I got no Guitar expert/fixer near, so I need to to the job myself. In your opinion, what could be the better way to fix it, knowing that i got no tools and expertise to eventually even change the 2 pivoting screws. Thank you so very much.

@@fabriziodutto7508 Hi there, thanks for watching and I am glad you enjoyed it! I had the same problem early on when I was not sure if I would be able to get the Kahler working or not. I found 2 options. The best one is that a standard Fender USA 2 point trem does fit the existing 2 posts so although these are expensive, it is a direct fit and the easiest solution and it looks correct. Clone versions are also available that will also do the job - amazon or eBay and you’ll find plenty. Option 2 is that Wilkinson also make a bridge that will fit called VS-100N which has a locating notch on one end and a straight blade on the other, so it will fit any post spacing. Again, clone versions can be found. The locking bar on the headstock is no loss - modern locking tuners are a much better idea. I just left it on for originality. Good luck if you do buy it - I am sure you will love it, these are awesome guitars!

@@AlansGuitarShack Thank you so much for the reply! The guy asked me 500€ for the guitar, the fretboard is ok, no dents on the bars, the guitar plays, I've seen a problem with one of the 2 big screw of the kahler tremolo that seems at an angle, the guitar needs to be cleaned and has rusted screw to be polished, also one of the bar of the neck pick-up is very low, it goes under the plastic black cover, the one under the high E string. I hope the price is good, since I'm a guitar player but I'm not at all trained to fix the mechanical part of the guitar and it will be expensive to have it fixed, considering that today a Fender player costs about 760€ in my country and for the difference, maybe I should consider to buy a new one. Could you kindly tell me what do you think about? Better buy a new mexican one or try to fix this '87 Japanese one? Thank you so much for your reply.

Hello there, Great job bringing that Strat to life. My Peavey Falcon has a Kahler Fulcrum Tremolo that looks like yours. Where can I purchase the bridge saddles? THX.
