Anyone who actually owns or plays an American made strat knows it’s 1000x superior and plays better than a crappy mexican strat. Even with upgrades, the mim strat is trash. Oh my god, I wish more people used the taller string tree on the e and B strings more often. That downward pull cost me tuning stability for a long time. Ditching the D and G tree and putting it on another tree helped with tuning a lot, especially with whammy use. I got to try that Neck/Middle tone, Bridge tone configuration. After I put a treble bleed circuit on my Strat it made the Neck and Middle clearer, but also resulted in the bridge being too bright. Glad to know about that. Lastly, Colin, I suggest having the springs at the back parallel with each other and not in a triangle position. Chances are, with the middle spring not having the same pull as the others might make it "jump out" from the slot.

I decked the tremolo, set it with 8 gauge, locking tuners and replaced the bridge pickup with a SD hotrail. My Stratocaster has Volume, tone, tone, and the mid tone is for the neck and mid, the last tone is only for the bridge. You telling me my 2023 modell is better than yours, because i would be mad if i could not change the tone on the bridge. Made the mid and neck pickup sound cheap right from China, and the SD doesnt hum at all, but the default fender pickups... they hum, the bridge on it way to thin... Im gonna change the mid and neck when i can afford it, because the ones that are default on a MIM Strat sounds worse than the Squier Stratocaster i got in 1999. The Squier Affinity Telecaster that i just bought tho, is as if it's not a Squier at all! Sounds great, easy to play, and for now i don't plan to replace any of the 2 pickups on it. @Science of Loud I am looking to buy a Fender Player Strat, my only gripe with the guitar is , how well can I use that tremsystem / whammybar without the tuning of the guitar going haywire. I play a lot of Iron Maiden and I know most of the guitarist in that band uses lockable Floyd Rose bridges, now those guys are not going crazy on the tremolo-arm in solos like Steve Vai or some other crazy guitarist does. So my question for you or others that might know, if a Fender Player Strat is correctly / well setup, will I be able to push down on that tremolo while playing solos like in "Heaven Can Wait" by Iron Maiden without the guitar going haywire and the tuning all over the place ? I have seen that the Fender Player Strat have their thicker block in the back of the guitar compared to the thinner block on cheaper guitars like Squier. So what do you reckon ? Do I have to buy a guitar with Floyd Rose for stuff like this which I really do not want or can I make due with the whammybar on the Fender Player series ? THANKS A LOT FOR ANSWER!

I bought a MIM strat and was very disappointed with the sound, none of that strat 'chime' So looking into ghe whole strat thing I discovered the MIM had a flimsy piece of alloy for a bridge block and only three whammy bar springs (should be five) in the back so I got a Floyd brass bridge block and a couple more springs: definite improvement but still not quite right. Basically the hand wound pickups on early strats had imperfections in the windings (later ones were machine wound) which gave that steely sound, so I invested in three Bare Knuckle scatter wound (machine wound but with imperfections build in) and was blown away by the improvement. Really does sound like a '63 now.

Can’t seem to buy these pickups anywhere ? I tried a Player Strat against a G and L and the G and L sounded better to me . Some people buy a Mex or Squier Strat and put in different pickups maybe £200 of work so not in everyone’s price point if you already spent say £ 500 on a Player Strat . The older Mexican Strats had ceramic pickups in them and they sounded fine and some say they were better than the newer ones if you were using a lot of overdrive . I have an HSS American Strat with neck and middle are noiseless and a great humbucker in the bridge and I wouldn’t dream of swapping them out . A single coil bridge pickup can be a bit harsh so having the tone control wired up is a great feature on the Player .

I received this video yesterday as I am a Patron. Sadly it did not play and still does not as I am watching this. I have a Mexi 2012 Strat which is great but the pickups have little detail in their sound and I have been debating getting another set but am not sure what to go for. The Graphtec trees work great, I fitted a pair on my HB Fusion after removing the horrible tension bar and no more problems with tuning and the trem. A wiring diagram would be good to convert to the bridge pickup having a working tone control, I never use it except in conjunction with the middle pickup.
