This band draws attention to that The band's name is a a portmanteau of Stratocaster (guitar) and Stradivarius (violin). The weird piano-like sound is harpsichord, it's like a piano but more primitive and tinny sounding This singer's vocals remind me a bit of Dio. Very 80's niche

I believe the name STRATOVARIUS comes from the violin makers 'stratovarius'. Awesome song!!!!

I think Helloween is probably the first real European power metal band but Stratovarius is certainly among the first. Blind Guardian is another really early power metal band.

You kept mentioning the drummer. You should check out two drummers widely looked upon, in their respective genres, as one of the best drummers. Neil Peart Drum Solo Live in Frankfurt. RIP Neil. The other is Gene Hoglan Plays Strapping Young Lad's Skeksis. There's a reason his nickname is "The Atomic Clock".

You talk about voice! Then you should listen to Nightwish the band that set its own standard and other bands try to cope with. Nightwish Wacken open air 2013 pick any of those 15 songs they performed. And then you can listen to Phantom of the opera with Tarja their first singer from 1996 ! And dont forget the band and the metal Mozart on keayboar who wrotes almost all, gutarrist do his own but stick to the feeling, no show up! By far the most complex band you can react to, but if you do so prepare for been invaded by the army of Nightwish. Kind warning man!

@@Hawaii_Foxx-0 Well, it's not like you have to be either or, i grew up on helloween, strato, sonata twilightning and rhapsody and got to dragonforce later. DF has good stuff from their earlier days, all the newer stuff sound the same, you can put on album and can't really tell any difference in songs because it's the same shit from start to finish. They started going downhill with the album that had the fire and flames that made them big, you can put on any album after that and it just blends together.
