Not one thing out of place. The entire town looks like a museum. Surreal!

Thanks Thad! It certainly felt that way there. I think many cottages are empty because owners rent them out for holiday seasons or use them as holiday homes. It's happening all over the coastal part of England

@@mikebogatyrev3058 older houses like these cottages have hidden advantages that newer homes lack, such as thick sturdy walls, higher insulation and built to last for ages, all along with the sheer elegance of their beauty

Excellent film of Stratton, but I am surprised it didn't include any shots of the historic 13th Century 'Tree Inn' Public House!

Very nice video, Mike. The weather was perfect and so was the music. Although we live back in Bude now we did live in Stratton for five years. Surprised you missed the historic (original elements date back to the 13th century) Tree Inn where a Parliamentary Army surrendered to the outnumbered local Loyalist army. This was following the Parliamentarians defeat at the 1643 battle at Stamford Hill a short distance from here. The 'troops' taking part in the annual re-enactment used to march past our window every May. Stratton was an important market town long before Bude existed, but has gradually faded in to the background commercially.

My pleasure. Sadly, the pandemic has put a stop to The Sealed Knot's re-enactments, but hopefully it will be back on next year.🤞

I watched this video with my girlfriend on the large 4K screen when I came to visit her recently - we really liked the immersive experience. The whole architecture of the village is very much what you would see in the Greater Manchester region, the stone brick cottages and even the church at 4:09 is a doppelgänger to the one I saw 2 days ago when I was on my way to the train station for my return back to Reading. The only difference is that Stratton is much sunnier annually plus warmer Keep up the great work - the Cornwall journey has been really amazing on your channel
