Notice bassoonist Nancy Goeres turning beet red playing the berceuse and then gasping for air halfway through at around 8:40. A very demanding part. A beautiful, flawless performance. What a trooper!

I love this gentleman, just when I think it's impossible to love even more the music, I hear these accurate interpretations on a complex opus :D

Awesome and beautiful performances. The conductor is amazing. Orchestral musicians are electrifying in their playing. So happy I found this video. Thank you to Gerald Schwarz and the All Stars orchestra for sharing this. :-)

I’m kind of a Firebird fanatic having read the Stephen Walsh biography. This video is so nice because it provides this “blow by blow” analysis with the sections of the score. A real find. Thanks!!

A piano roll exists on which Stravinsky has provided a detailed analysis of the tonal structure of this work. I think the analysis is reproduced in Richard Taruskin's book, and it is definitely worth studying.

Often conducted way too fast in the finale. You have it just right. Wonderful video, thanks Gerard.

Shocks!! This piece was used in their last episode. The song at the end of the movie is heartbreaking. I'm not spoiling it.

It’s because it’s tiresome to blow. Even my instrument, the easier to blow Bb Clarinet, is really tiresome after long phrases or even phrases of 5-10 seconds long is hard to keep well projected and loud

@@gcg8187 I have a flute now. Last summer, I had to return my regular clarinet because my dad had to pay a monthly fee on it even though I played bass clarinet in band. So now I have a clarinet, flute, and trumpet.
