Could I please thank you so much for this my mom is from Kentucky back in the mountains my dad is also moved to Ohio in 1975 we already family here she brought that recipe with her up here like you said every Christmas thanksgiving family reunions my momma made two whole cut up fried chicken s in big cast iron skillet home made chicken and dumplings absolutely two of these cakes exactly in I'm trying to show someone the icing is trick no cream cheese half a cup of clarified butter and a bunch of that white powder sugar strawberry juice abig whisk perfect they never knew what cream cheese was in that holler make your own awesome baby god bless you

Lol, that was our daughter cutting the cake. She said that she saw someone else cut like that. Marie will be making two of these cakes for a baby shower this weekend. This cake has been a family favorite for many years now. We rewrote the instructions to make it easier to understand. It must be made correctly to turn out good. My grandmother used to make a cake like that she called it strawberry deluxe and she added coconut and pecans in the cake mix and in the icing but everything else was pretty much the same I miss her and I miss that cake Thank you for sharing this recipe it brought back a lot of great memories and by the way Ms Maria I love your apron super cute ❤️

I have used your recipe and yummy but I have also used the strawberry cake flavor mix but to add a more fresh flavor I replace the water portion with pureed frozen strawberries in syrup and it is amazing ..

This cake looks so good and the reviews were amazing. So I decided to make it a few days ago. I was so disappointed bc my cake did not turn out fluffy. Instead, it was super dense and too moist (almost like a wet sponge cake consistency). The frosting was too sweet - I stopped at 4.5 cups of sugar which was still too sweet. I can always adjust the frosting which is not a problem for future baking. But what could I have done wrong bc my cake did not turn out the way I expected? ☹️

This cake recipe will give you a very moist cake layer. This is how the Paula Deen recipe is supposed to be. Some people will make a strawberry cake with a box of strawberry cake mix and put this frosting on it. This will give you a fluffy cake. This cake recipe was not intended to be fluffy. Sorry that it didn't meet your expectations. Like you said, this cake has very high reviews. I've been making it for many years and everyone wants the recipe after they try it. We made the Strawberry 🍓 cake today and it is delicious. We made it in a 13x9. Our frosting was a cream cheese STRAWBERRY 🤤🍓 frosting with about half as much CONFECTIONERY SUGAR SO IT WAS MORE LIKE A ICING. THIS IS A VERY GOOD CAKE ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 star video
