I’m planning on making this for a BBQ. DO you think it would be ok to make the night before and leave in the fridge? Or is it better to serve fresh?

While I have had this cake the next day...and it's good, it really is best fresh and slightly warm after baking it, because that's when the crusty top is still crusty. When you refrigerate it the top isn't as crusty, but it still tastes good.

So I did end up making it yesterday and it turned out fantastic! My whole family loved it and i'm definitely going to be making it all throughout the summer ( I can't wait to try it with fresh strawberry's from my family's garden) Thanks so much for sharing the recipe!

I'm confused by the ingredient list, is it 1 cup (8oz) or i full stick, which is typically 4 oz here in the USA

Sorry for the confusion...it's just that different companies here in the US package their butter in either 4oz sticks or or sometimes as 8oz sticks. You need 8oz of butter for this recipe.
