@@albertmaheswara9968 a femboy is a guy who simply enjoys presenting and dressing in “girly” clothing. Femboy’s are fine with being boys though, that’s just how they present themselves. Transwomen on the other hand are people who were born male and did not feel fine in their own body. They will transition to feel more like a woman, this can include doing top and bottom surgery as well as training their voice to be more feminine, their end goal is to feel less like a man and more like a woman. When it comes to pronouns, femboy’s tend to use just he/him, while trans woman will mainly use she/her (obviously there are a few exceptions to this rule since pronouns don’t equal gender but that’s not what we’re talking abt today). I hope this explanation made sense it may be better for someone else to explain the difference!

Rosemary and Sage was written to be so quirky they forgot to touch on actual struggles and the closest things in the "heroes" group that could show any sense of complexity was Thyme (even though I just- r e a l ly hate their names) Amaryllis and Snapdragon had potential because they were seen as humans, antagonists, who can grow Rosemary and Sage didnt have as much because they were seen as heroes well atleast in my opinion

@@himborat855 The best part about this and the fact that they only give protagonists depth means that the "kill all men" writing staff inadvertedly made the average male character significantly better than the average female character. Every male character can show flaws or be laughed at, which makes them more enjoyable, whilst the main female characters are just "Gosh I sure am flawless and QUIRKY" and outrageously dull. To see the exact crowd of people that would complain about "a lack of strong female characters" and about how female characters aren't given enough depth, it's INCREDIBLE levels of irony that in their fear to give themselves flaws, (or rather, their character inserts) they too gave the males more depth. That's gotta be the most hilarious part of the show for me.

In fear of creating controversy on female flaws (even though everyone has flaws), as you said they made males better and cycle repeats its just a breeding pool of r/nicegirls type stuff and its really just s a d. Representation was nice and all but it not being considered representation and just parts of our daily lives that there exist some people like boys and girls or some boys or girls, stuff like that just.. its just better and yet as of now, most "progressive" media is more focused on the representation that focuses on the fact that they exist. And I think another reason for this.. well "obsessive pride" as I'd like to call it is just the amount of times people doubt and discriminated against them in the past too. So stuck up in their own past experiences that the moment they try to show it in forms of media like this, they dont speak up about it, they yell. The thing with Snapdragon is he comes across more like a boy who doesn't want to be 'manly' like his father and says he admires girls for their beauty, but as far as I'm aware doesn't outright say he wants to be one. Guys are allowed to be effeminate, they're allowed to be pretty and wear makeup and girly clothes without being trans, it's no different than a girl being a tomboy. (Speaking as someone gender nonconforming but not trans). But then again, given how utterly disgustingly ham fisted they were handling the actual trans person in the show (in what has got to be one of the worst exchanges about a reveal like that I've ever seen) I'm not holding my breath.

Let's be real here, snapdragon is one of the few likeable characters in this show and is extremely cute and have a great design I just wish they could make him less "weak", don't get me wrong i have no problems with "weak/skinny" male characters, the problem is that they tried to make a femboy/young trans to break stereotypes but just ended up sending a message that femboys/young trans are all fragile and insecure or that every weak and fragile are feminine/femboy/trans Look at Shun from saint seiya(i don't remember the name in English) as an example of a feminine and "frail" boy who can still identify as a male/not be intentionally a femboy but is extremely strong and useful I'm sad that snapdragon had to be part of THIS show, such a wasted design and potential for character development

Watching everything, and putting Snapdragon in a "this is not my body" situation sounds like the easy way of his problems. You know, all connected is like everyone is expecting Snap to be strong and masculine as heck (even his first appareance was trying to be the bully). But no one dared to think what's really going on with him. Only to Purple girl stop and caring about it. It feels is more about Snap feeling depressed because no one cares about him than an actual transition. Only to purple girl stop and thinking about him (and it's not exactly helpful in the subject either...) So many things they could do, but the writers choose to be lazy...

It's more conservative people outside my group approaching us and harassing us because we "offend their values and principles" or whatever, even though we're just minding our own business. "Femboy" lately feels like it's being used in the same way they used to use "Trap" to refer to trans-women characters. But perhaps more insidious because while the transphobic meaning behind "trap" was fairly obvious, they're appropriating a term used for GNC men and using it to be dismissive of trans-women and their identities.

Femboy is something that I'd see being used for characters like Snapdragon in HGS, Forrest from Fire Emblem Fates, or Venti from Genshin Impact. It is very possible for boys to look and/or act feminine without needing to, or wishing to, "transition".

I as a black persona can’t stand when media portray racism in such a blatant and mask off way because that’s not how modern racism works, people aren’t just gonna call me slurs on a daily basis but they will do small and subtle things that make it clear they think less of me. And example would be a white person calling me an N word vs a white person complimenting me because I can read. It depends a lot on the culture of where you live and what level of bigotry is considered normal. Kids shows tend to show more blatant bigotry because it's easier to write and easier to show kids why it's wrong, but as a result of it being shown more often it can come off as cartoonish, "forced," stereotypical, and sounds patronizing to people who experience more subtle bigotry that never gets addressed in shows. I think the real problem is that this is absolutely a children's series, but for some reason it's marketed at adults?? I don't know what Crunchyroll was thinking with calling this an adult's series, this is clearly for kids and should be judged as such. Cosplay Conventions are, similarly, places where people were costumes. She was approached by a guy who started hitting on her. But after he found out she was trans, he became very angry and aggressive, and started lashing out at her. We had to get Convention Security involved. Afterwards we wound up not going to the Touhou Cosplay Group Photoshoot, because we knew that guy was going to be there. As for what you call "normal" male traits, many of them ("standing up for yourself") are in fact toxic traits. For the most part, straight cisgender men don't really have anyone who's truly out to get them, and as such reacting violently to people is more likely to cause more problems than it solves. Case and point; the whiny coffee-cup thrower from that fucking Assassin's Creed Valhalla Camp. The Barista simply got his order wrong, an honest unintentional mistake. She was not "bullying" him. The only thing his behavior accomplished was "acting like a jerk." Not to mention when it comes to people who ACTUALLY have people out to get them, like black men, or lesbians like myself, standing up to bullies does NOT make them "back off." Instead it just puts us in their sights even more. Case and point; all the civil rights leaders who have been assassinated. This is made even worse by the fact that, when we stand up for ourselves, we're more likely to be arrested for "assault" and punished by the law than the people assaulting us. Best thing you can do in that situation is to GTFO ASAP. And yeah I took self-defense classes, but you're not gonna win every single fight, which if you don't want to die, is what you NEED to do. So don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think you know much about "being a warrior" because unless you were in the military, if you're a straight white cisgender man then no one, absolutely no one, is "declaring war" on you because of who you are. One last thing; "being male is being in control of your emotions" is an incredibly sexist thing to say. The flipside being women aren't in control of our emotions because...why? We're "hormonal?" "Hysterical"? I don't know if that's what you meant but it sounds REALLY close to that. Men have hormones that make them angry and hysterical too you know. In fact I've seen more men letting their emotions get out of control than I have women. I think part of that is social, women are often shamed for being "too emotional" so that makes us more likely to say "Oh I need to take a step back and calm down."
