@@TheRipeTomatoFarms 🤔 Depends on how sweet you like it, or how fruity Mine is 1 kg fresh really ripe fruit 2 cups plain sugar Blend Add 2 litres filtered water, room temperature Pre- soak champagne yeast from a brew shop - half a teaspoon , dry Combine in a large clean sterile container with the lid loose To allow the gases to escape Put in warm place, like the top of a fridge, covered to keep out light Leave for about a month, or until bubbling stops for dry, earlier for sweet Refrigerate for a week, liquid is desert wine, solids are desert topping. the yeast stops working , depending on the sugar and how much alcohol it makes,and the temperature. Refrigeration stops the yeast action. The week allows the solids to drop down and gives a clear wine. This is an extremely simple description, took me a few tries to perfect the details. Thinking about writing a book . 🤣🤣🤣

Do the strawberry pups I can get from potting mother plant runners have their lifespans reset or will they die the same year the parents burn out? It's a new plant. I hope I get 3 to 5 out of the baby plant once they get established.

Brand new plant man. Baby plant that comes out a little bit ahead of doing them from seeds. Usually, the runners won't produce fruit in that first year you take them, but they will the 2nd. :-)

Strawberries are best when there's a mix. Yes, they are self pollinating, but access to bees produces a more even, perfectly-shaped fruit.

Interesting video. If you take good care of your strawberry plants, it is possible to keep them for more than 3 years, but it is true that they will produce less strawberries. I notice that on the dead leaves of your strawberry plants, there is a lot of powdery mildew, it's probably because of your watering, you should never water the strawberry leaves, because it brings diseases to them. Last little advice, to cover the soil and retain moisture, it is preferable for strawberry plants to use pine needles or pine bark, strawberry plants like an acid soil.

Oh man I needed this video a couple months ago, the previous owner left behind a strawberry bed. I did clean them up a lot but I put fertilizer in the bad and apparently that’s a no no a lot of them died I really had no clue what I was doing! Then I found out there was a smaller bed of them which I didn’t touch, it’s just produced tiny berries that ended up with some pest damage I haven’t seen many more new berries so it must be a June bearing variety. I’m still trying to clean up all the raised beds full of weeds. Then I’ll have to order some ever bearing.

Hey Kenroy....Strawberries from seeds will produce berries in their second season...same with plants made from runners. Strawberries divided this way in the spring will produce berries that SAME season. :-) Reason is....Strawberries form the following year's flower buds in the fall. So it always takes an extra year for younger plants.

There could be a million different answers Rosa, hard to know without seeing them. Too much water, too little, to warm of temperatures, bad soil, bad pH.....literally a million different reasons.
@brittrathbunwoo7370
@brittrathbunwoo7370 2 жыл бұрын
Could be: -a soil disease, -critters, underground or above, -poor soil nutrition, -pH out of balance preventing absorption of nutrients, -poor soil structure preventing healthy root establishment i.e. hard clay preventing root growth expansion or sandy soil which can cause too quick of drainage. (Teacher please correct me if needed). Pick a correct variety for your zone, or close to it & see what varieties work best in your particular microclimates around your home, move plants if needed, Prepare the soil ahead of time by using: - a good, well draining potting soil, -add good quality compost, or compost in place below the planting hole topped with soil (as roots grow they will tap into that rich, nutrient dense black gold) -Ensure you have adequate minerals in the soil as this affords healthy, vigorous plants & better tasting fruit. You can have your soil tested if you wish, or just drop fish parts into the hole w/the compost or use fish, seaweed or kelp emulsion to cover all the minerals. The plants will take what they need. -water the bed in each stage of preparation to prevent "water phobic soil." Basically, from what I understand, this means that the soil cells when dry resist absorbing water. When water phobic soil cells are watered, the water just runs off. Like when your tongue is parched & you drink water, or a "desert" soil that is dry & resists water penetration. Anyway, water throughout building the soil to make all the cells ready for the final watering when the plant is planted. - plant in a place with adequate sun, not too much or too little, maybe in the not so harsh AM sun & PM shade? - plant as directed in this video - mulch well - check daily for moisture & any damage. If damage detected, determine what is causing it & correct that issue. If you give what the plant needs to start with, then later if s problem develops, you have already narrowed down the poss culprits.

Or 2 yrs. I believe he mentioned that strawberry seeds, I assume he is referring to plants as he only discussed working with plants, not seeds, I could be wrong on this. But, if I am correct in assuming this, then when we get the plants in the Spring, they have already spent time growing at the nursery. If they started the plants in Spring or Fall of the previous year, unless a greenhouse was used with regulated temp & artificial light, then can plants be started from seed at anyttime of the year? Oh, I am confusing myself, or things are just not as straightforward anymore with advanced growing techniques, 😕, but! if the plants are started in a tradititional method from seed/runner the previous Spring or Fall, then it makes sense that by the time you purchase the established plant in Spring, it has to be at least 7-9 mos old. In that case, they would fall into the strawberries don't fruit the 1st year of growth category. They will produce some the 2nd year, but most growth happens to the crown & establishing a good root system in year two. The 3rd year is when fruit production happens. All occording to this gentleman. I guess we just need to ask how old the plants are that we are purchasing. Unless there is a way to tell by looking at the roots & crown how old a plant is. I imagine the answer is yes to an experienced eye. I hope I didn't confuse you as much as I did myself. Or, I just walked myself in a circle of logic to end back up at it just depends on how old the plant is when you purchase it; what you asked in the 1st place. 😔 I'll be quiet now and let the good teacher answer your question.
