I think I was 12 or 13 when I first picked up this game. I was already a fan of Persona 4, but my disk cracked so I had no way of playing it again. I decided to give P3 a shot. I was at a pretty bad place back then, being constantly bullied and feeling isolated by my peers, and generally dealing with mental health issues. I remember coming home from school on Fridays, and playing P3. I'd play until it was late at night. It was my refuge, as silly as it may sound - finding refuge in a video game. But, at a time when I had no one and no warm human interaction, it gave me what I was missing. I think, that this game saved me. It thought me that things get better, that I can get better and that all the bad times won't last forever. The moment Minato died crushed me, but at the same time I felt this great happiness, because I understood the weight of his actions. The second the credits rolled, I grabbed my old Sony Ericsson and recorded this song. Yea, the sound quality was crappy, but I still replayed it over and over, listening to it until I fell asleep that night. So, in case anyone is reading and going through something similar - it gets better, and you get better. It takes time, and yeah, it can be hell at times. But, it gets better. Stay strong, my dudes.

When I was eleven, my sister introduced me to Persona 5. I tried it out a little and adored it, but I wasn’t able to keep playing because parents exist. When I was twelve, I wanted to find out all the hype about the other games, so I watched Shenpai’s play through of p4G. Honestly it changed me. Then I watched her p3FES one. Taught me a lot of stuff. If not for my sister having an interest in p5, I’d never had even looked into the Persona series.

We put our cat down last year. She was almost 20 years old - I came home from work to my partner on the floor crying next to her, she couldn't walk anymore and was struggling to get up to greet me. This song was playing on his phone. He played it a few times over as I got our baby into a laundry basket with her favourite blanket and favourite toy. He played it as I made a few phonecalls - one to the emergency vet, one to a loved one who could drive us there. Vet agreed that with her age and in her current condition, putting her down was the best option - anything else would just be prolonging suffering and buying time. We did the deed. Our loved one drove us home, we went out to a bar and sat there listening to this song on shared headphones. Every time I listen to it, I only remember the love I had of this cat and the amazing life we gave her. It fills me with love and hope. When P3 got remade on modern consoles, I got the special collector's edition. Aegis stands next to my cat's urn. Thank you, Sapphire for this incredible cover that gives me so many incredible feelings.

The reason Makoto's death was so painful is because you never expected him to mean anything to you. Up until the fight with Nyx he was just a self-insert. A body in which you use to put yourself in the story. Not being able to understand what truly happened and why when he did is a harsh awakening to the fact that Makoto, even under your control, was his own person. That last few days in Gekkoukan, when he started to disappear you began to see less through his eyes and through the eyes of those around him. How much Makoto meant to those around him. Those he formed "unbreakable bonds with". Understanding what Makoto meant to Kaz, Kenji, Yuko or whoever you chose to spend time with, and especially SEES made you feel this entirely different person from yourself. A kind and caring person that was there for the people he loved. And that's why it was so hard to see him go. I hope Makoto is free from the seal by now and resting. Rest well, our fallen friend we never knew we had.

Finished the game recently.... I think the message of the story really resonated with me. I've never really been as social as I would like always convinced my self that I was doing the most I can, or thinking I've had reasons out of my control... And even before that I've struggled with the concept of my own mortality ever since I was a wee lad. Fearing what would await me after this world. I hope that this adds new perspective to what drives me forward. But perhaps making this a I hope statement sets it up to fail for. For change is something I need to set about with my own actions. I need: To live life to the fullest no matter how short or brief it may be. To live without regrets when faced with doubts and fears or fading of what brought color to your world. You push forward for trepidation doesn't stop death, it only stops life. Venture life to the fullest because death is inevitable. My own mortality is something that's worried me since I was really young. So this dread I feel about my fate after this world is something I must face. Thank you Persona 3 Reload, for laughs, passion, love, tears, and for the memories, met on this short, but sweet journey. Memento mori, I will remember that my time will end. +itselguapo > Your eyes feel heavy... *>>* "Close your eyes" The absolute best thing about the entire ending sequence is how you get to take one last walk around the city, seeing all of those sights you've become used to one last time, and then just being hit from every angle by good news from the people whose Social Links you've maxed. If you took the time to check every event location, you'd get to see just how much of a good impact you had on the people around you. It really lets it sink in just how many things you managed to achieve in one year alone. Like, you think back to the decision point at December 31st and realize you could've given this all up, you could've taken the easy route and let the yourself(and the world) die painlessly ignorant of your fate... But you didn't, and now it just seems like the same world who wished so much for death, now loved life more than anything. It's really amazing honestly, no other game I've ever played managed to emulate such feeling from inside myself, Persona 3 is really a masterpiece.

+Vlad Dobra Even if arguably tedious, I think the repetitiveness of Tartarus really added to the game, rather than subtracting from it. Unlike the other Persona games, the entire premise was the ascension of one key place. The point was ultimately to see the evolution of this same place throughout the game and to gradually climb towards the end of the game. While I think the other Persona games did well to mix things up, it was pretty essential for the plot of Persona 3, and it really gave the player a sense of familiarity that enhanced the plot -- whether that was intentional or not.

Something that just dawned on me. A meaning behind the lack of control of your party members. Did I feel more like my party members were their own people rather than extension of myself when I couldn't give direct commands, therefore making my success in the adventure feel more like a group effort, feeling more and more in sync with my allies as I progressed? Literally showing in gameplay that the meaning of life is to truly learn about other people and making an effort to understand THEM rather than assuming they'll understand me? That was in NO WAY the intention of the gameplay design, but it's the effect I feel it had on me either way. Probably just making excuses for unpolished design, but I don't care, it works.

Death, which is inevitable, and the story being tailored upon that fact made me feel like giving Minato/Makoto a proper goodbye by closing his eyes and letting him fade away in peace.

I finished this game at a time in my life when I was possibly the most stressed. I had a girlfriend who wanted to pretty much kill herself every day (she’s ok now) and my problems with being bi polar. Eventually it got to the point where she was seconds away from doing it. Balancing this and school didn’t help me and it made me feel exhausted every day and it really got to my head. I tried my best to stay with her as I was also losing interest in her as our conversations just ended up her being depressed and putting all the weight on me. It’s not her fault as her single mom was terrible to her and her sister didn’t care for her either. I was her only outlet for her problems and I felt terrible if I were to leave her. Then I played persona 3 which I was already a fan of 4 and 5. After beating it I gained confidence that I can’t let myself suffer like this and broke up with her. Of course I didn’t leave her in the dust and helped her into a more mentally stable state then she eventually got help. The day she got help I was so glad for her. If you read all of this thank you and thank you persona 3 for teaching me that it’s ok to just live your life and that staying in place will do you no good.

This song as well as Persona 3 in general strike a deep personal chord with me for that reason. so the way i see it, the song is from the viewpoint of ,cannonically aigis, but technically whoever you dated. and it's them singing about the protagonist. the first chorus seems to be about how he gave his life to save the world so he is a "hero" and at the same time an "angel" so beautiful, excellent job, your voice fit the song perfectly :)

I will shamelessly admit I can't finish listening to this without crying. Feels good. Not many things can do that, either. I get choked up easily, but full-on crying is rare.
