Best predebut song ever. Still one of Stray Kids’ best songs to this date

It's shocking how you pointed that thing about Han because it's actually so true. As you know Han is the funniest, happy and energetic human being but he said it himself, he's the one who writes the saddest songs in the end..

The fact that even people now who have been in the industry for years, aren't making songs this powerful and about this subject matter. And here we have Skz, pre debut who wrote and produced the song themselves and it's this deep and meaningful even then. No one is like Skz. Hellevator is one of my favorites!

Stray Kids started off as a 9 member group. However, in late 2019 Woojin left the group and they continued as an 8 member group. This was just before Levanter came out. There are a lot of differnet opinions about the reasons behind him leaving, definitely not something I recommend getting into if you want to stay on the positive side of the internet :P They actually re-recorded most of the songs they released, including Hellevator. These can be found on their SKZ2020 and SKZ2021 digital only albums. I highly recommend listening the 8 member version of Hellevator as well! There are some live performances of it, which are absolutely mind blowing!

This was their Pre-debuted song and the first song 3Racha wrote with the group during the survival show-minhos part was assigned on the spot to rap for JYP and he never rapped before. They also got flack for the key-JYP wanted them to drop it an octave or 2 as he felt it was too high-Chan said nope we r keeping it and let me raise the key for the next one (Debut song district 9 is higher)-also Lee know choreographed the song as well. During their survival show they were solely responsible for their work no help. Channie got these guys ready for debate and now we are here!

Changbin's song "streetlight" is his putting loneliness and depression into music. It truly expresses Changbin's inner struggles. Moving and inspirational at the same time.

The extra guy you noticed was Kim Woojin. Stray Kids debuted in 2018 as a 9 member group but in October 2019 Woojin left Stray kids for personal reasons. After he left there were a lot of rumors and scandals saying he was actually kicked out due to harassing others but those were investigated and proven false. Woojin is now a solo artist under a different company.

I saw everyone already told you about Woojin. It's a sensitive topic in the fandom. And yeah I really recommend you to watch Stray Kids survival show. It's such a emotional rollercoaster and imo the best skz extra content ever. It shows their struggles to debut, how much they were since their pre-debut all involved in the making process of their music. You'll definitly love them even more after watching it. Hellevator is so impressive knowing they made it when they were still trainees. It's completly self-produced so it has some flaws but those flaws make it all the more beautiful. It's authentic and raw and edgy and exactly what I fell in love with Stray Kids for.

The chorus part was so good, the beat made our heart feel every beat of it like we're in Hellevator itself, the turbulence, danger n etc. 100/10 for me, the best pre debut song

Amazing video! So glad you did Hellevator, it is still one of favourite tracks from them as well. It's one of those songs that the more you look into it, the more things you uncover. And when you mix in the mv, it gets even more layers, it's brilliant

Hellevator Is one of my favorite songs by Stray Kids but i dare Say in general. And believe me i was teleported to my own highschool years which date back a long time before 2011. Talking late Eighties. You're right, it's extremely relatable

Idk if you noticed or not, but the end of Hellevator ends with the same upside down city that Maniac starts with. The SKZ storyline is insane. Edit: nevermind I got to the end of the video, I'm glad you noticed 😭

Definitely one of my favourites too. The extra member is Woojin, as you can see in your comments here, Stay is very divided about him. Personally, I wasn't around for that drama so I can appreciate them all as artists without any of that negativity attached. What I can say is I've seen Chan recently in a live when he saw websites writing about Stray Kids but using OT9 photos, he just kindly asked people if they can stop doing that. It was clear to me from his facial expression that there's hurt there, they've cut ties and don't want to be associated together. SKZ are my ults, but I won't deny that Woojin is a very talented singer too. Unfortunately this whole issue seems to just bring out the worst in some Stays. If Chan can be civil about it, then I don't understand why Stay can't do the same. Great reaction as always, enjoyed your insights. Looking forward to seeing more SKZ content

Yo comencé a seguirlos durante la pandemia y tampoco me afecta el que sean 8 y no 9 miembros, pero es verdad que es un tema delicado para las stays. Espero que sigan creciendo y teniendo éxito con su música.

Hellavator was my first ever SKZ song I listened too. It's such an amazing song and being a pre debut song still amazes me, also BangChan helped to write the beat of this song too. Also SKZ used to be a 9 member group but one member left. It was also this song where I first saw and heard felixs voice and that was when he became my bias in SKZ. The lyrics is in this song shows all the struggles SKZ faced pre debut and all the struggles and obstacles they will face going higher

My first impression was so strong because of their reality show. It was a survival show. Every challenge was so emotional. This song was meaningful. I really loved everything about this song. That’s why I fell in love with them. Still, they’re so talented with everything. I really enjoyed it as always.

Sooo goood, I loveee this song. Loved your reaction as well. You seem to analyse and deep dive and I really loved it. Because of this I want to recommend another group I like which is TXT, and they are having a comeback called the name chapter, they just released a concept trailer for it, so it’s not a song but it is incredible and deep with meaning and I would really like to see what your thoughts are on the meanings. It does have to do greatly with their story line but I still think you would have a lot to say without knowing it. A little spoiler would be that the story of Peter Pan is involved in the video.

Hellevater and grrr are there pre-debut mvs. District 9 is SZK's official debut. Fun fact: chan was criticised by JVP for producing district 9 an a "woman range" pitch... so he decided to release hellevater 2 octaves higher than the debut song. he was a punk from the start, and i love him even more for that. This song started the epic era of SKZ, and it was the second song I listed in K-pop. I instantly fall in love ❤️. Thank you for this amazing reaction and analysis as always. It's making me happy every time I'm watching.

Woojin left for personal reasons (or that what was released) however it was not amicable-they had to re-record an album and push back a comeback due to it. He had some bs accusations and has overcome that-he is a soloist and actor now-STAY and Skz do not recognize him as a Skz memebr as he has been gone from the group longer than he was eve apart of it. Chan has even requested everyone stop with the OT9 and focus on OT8. Some people refuse to let it go but reality is the guy has had absolutely nothing to do with their success and was only apart of the group for a tiny bit of time. But he also deserves support on his own platform as he is talented but support as Jim Woojin solo artist.

Stray Kids debut as 9 members. Woojin had a lot of malicious rumors of a sexual nature that caused him to volunteer leave Stray Kids in Oct 25th 2019. After he left the proved that the rumors were false but it was too late. it took 2 years before Woojin debut as a solo idol and is not currently touring. He has an amazing vocals and love his songs. He is very big in Brazil. Hellevator was created during their survival show. They were all so young and you can see their maturity and talents just in this song and lyrics. Thank you for your amazing analysis.

the whole situation around woojin is just messy. i started stanning when he had already left, but my partner said that even if he was proven innocent, something just felt off before he left. in one of chan's rooms he also adressed someone telling them to keep their promise if they make one, and many suspect it is directed at woojin. i completely stay clear of him. something went wrong, and i'm not comfortable with enganging with him in any way.
@stardustnite202 жыл бұрын
As others have said, Woojin left in 2019 and SKZ re-recorded most of their discography (except the songs Woojin was credited on). So, as you go through their old stuff, I really recommend checking out the MV and then checking out the 8 member version (which will be a lyric vid). The way they distributed the parts in the ot8 versions is really interesting and in some of the songs the parts are so much better.
