Yellow Wood is in reference to the Robert Frost poem, The Road Not Taken. That's why the intro song for this album is called "Road Not Taken" and the scene has the split moons/split members showing the different paths and what could have happened had they chosen the comfortable path vs the difficult path. Side Effects centers around doubting the decision to travel the road not taken, being swayed and pressured by outside influences, starting to lose sight of yourself in that process, and getting torn down by how difficult the decision really is. Choreo for Side Effects is by 1Million and JYP Performance Lab (in house choreographers). The numbered mixtapes were re-released as OT8 songs with their original 3RACHA titles for SKZ2020 and SKZ2021: Mixtape #1: Placebo Mixtape #2: Behind the Light Mixtape #3: For You Mixtape #4: Broken Compass Mixtape #5: Hoodie Season

I'm still not good at English and at Korean too. But then when I started to listen SKZ songs, my favorite music was mixtape #3. And here I'm rewatching this video, so I realized one thing. When I was at 1st year at my university, when I was only 17y.o., when I was too far from my parents, when I was along with anoter students... I everyday listen to this music and had no idea, what was the meaning. Now I understand the meaning and I cried while watching video with you. 'Cause I remember the way I listened. It was like: I'm on my way to the university from the hostel for student. It took 15-20 minutes for the road. And I listened the song with my airpods too loud. It was so relaxing by the way.. and now I get it, why I fell relaxed then. It was the year when I started to stand SKZ.. I know, my English is so bad. But Stray kids with their music save my university years. I'm graduating this year and I'm so thankfull to SKZ, for that type of songs😭🤍

the mixtapes actually do have official names as they were originally 3racha songs that were modified to fit the rest of the members. they all have their original titles in the skz2021 album and thats also probably why you didn’t catch mixtape #1’s music video as it is titled “placebo” and was released in 2021 as a christmas present for stays. mixtape #1 is placebo, mixtape #2 is “behind the light”, mixtape #3 is “for you”, and mixtape #4 is “broken compass”

There's another Yellow Wood Trailer that explains the Stray Kids on the streets/off-roaders (hard road) and the Stray Kids on the bus (easy road). This is where the division of worlds start. We are following the Stray Kids on the hard road, therefore the Side Effects. There are 2 worlds in Maniac, Levanter, Hellevator. Easy road represents easy way of doing things to become an idol. just do what they say, follow and become famous. Hard road represents hard way of doing things, make/produce own music, make own choreography, etc

So while listening to mixtape 4 I recognised chans “I do it for my crew” now I hadn’t heard the song. Turns out they rereleased the song in 2021 without woojin called broken compass

as someone already mentioned here, Yellow Wood is a reference to the poem "Road Not Taken". It's a short poem, do read it. But it explains what''s happening a bit. Without going into much detail... As shown on The Map for Broken Compass, their journey begins in Hellevetor and District 9. They escape the system, grow up, understand who they are not und who they are, go to the city jungle (Miroh) and try to change the system. Time passes, but nothing changes and they want to move on. They take the elevator and see the city jungle once again in the trailer, and they see that nothing has changed. So they decide to move on, but there are two ways to do that. In the trailer you can see one version of the SKZ taking the bus, and one version not taking the bus. (btw a politician from Miroh with a hook tattoo is checking the tickets and drives the bus - so maybe it's the path alongside the system) In the Side Effects MV there are two moons (since there are two paths and both versions are shown) and mainly the version of the SKZ shown that has taken the other road, the one that no one takes and that's kinda forgotten. Nothing goes their way, the car breaks, they can't find the way, nothing works, and they see the bus, where the other version of themselves is in - at this point they are regretting not taking the "easier" path (the bus).

The mixtapes were originally CD only tracks on previous albums, #1 was released on I Am NOT, #2 on I Am WHO and so on. That's probably why you've heard Mixtape #2 outside of this album. There's also a Mixtape #5 which was released after Clé 2, that one has only been available on Spotify etc. since SKZ 2021 (one of the albums where stray kids just re-released a ton of their old songs as 8 member versions) dropped

In skz2021 album, they rerecord some of the song to make it ot8, and since they write their own lyric for each mixtape, they hv to cut out woojin's lyric and do some arragement to the song too and each of the mixtape hv title now, just a lil thing i wanna share
