As someone who came up in 90s from Southern California, this is giving me a bit of nostalgia because so many elements are from that vibe and time but made in a SKZ way! Sea walking or C-walking comes from Crip walking which was big in SoCal especially LA and Compton based rap/hiphop. Also in their bts intro for the album they made it clear they were paying homage to classic hip hop in this album but adding their spin to it. Lee Know in the original recording of the intro talks about c-walking and how not fits into that SoCal classic vibe.

As an older black woman, I will be sea walking along with Stray Kids next year when I see them in concert! You know, because it's a dance that's been around for years! Can the appropriation police please stop ruining it for the rest of us who enjoy all genres of music and dance steps?!?!?

On The Water Sounds like a lot of different mixing and melodies changes to the vocals and rap section being Stray Kids continuing to make a impact on sound engineering and styling

Thank you for the reaction! Love both versions of Walkin on Water, but the HIP version is definitely my favorite! Although, Bounce Back is probably my top song on the album.

It'd be different if they were giving themselves locs or braids (Felix and Hyunjin definitely have enough hair for it) or doing stuff that made it seem like this genre is just an "aesthetic" when other groups have done way worse, but they didn't which makes it seem more respectful than what we usually get

they teach the dances in cali dance classes, the dance is on fortnite and ateez basically did it in ice on my teeth. Nowadays I just don’t think it’s as serious as other people that mostly aren’t black or from california are making it out to be.
