Uh, yeah, no danger of running out of music. Even if you did go through the discography of almost 200 tracks, you still have live stages, variety content, dance practices, etc. This entire channel could be JUST Stray Kids and I'd be here for it! I have a feeling this comeback will be BANANAS!

My next recommendation will be Maniac or Case 143 - I’d recommend watching the music video and then the dance practice too, if that interests you.

Yeah I agree. The design of a performance is an essential tool to bring out the best from these artists and their songs. Stray Kids in particular are kind of unique in that aspect as they've got heights ranging from 5'6 to 5'11 (one of the shortest average heights of a kpop goy group) and yet they don't feel overpowered even if they are surrounded by taller dancers, nor are they unbalanced when they perform together, because their choreography takes advantage of those natural levels to elevate certain moments in a performance with shorter or taller members. But they also have crazy stage presence, even without choreography or specified positions, they are able to hype up a crowd and draw out the best in their songs. I've always considered them as artists who treat the stage as their playground, maybe because I can see how much joy they find in performing and creating their music. They felt like seasoned artists barely months after they debuted, even pre-debut if you ever find the time to watch some of their survival show content. I really enjoyed their MAMA 2021 performance, so if you wanna see something a little different from them, that's my recommendation which I've linked down below (mama and mnet are pretty strict on their content so putting a filter on like this one is probably a good idea. Stray Kids and JYP are pretty chill with copyright, because they seem to like reactors haha). It'd be good to check out the original versions of Thunderous and Cheese before seeing the award show performance though. For the content it is just endless, Stray kids have so many songs released, they only debuted 5 years ago and already have 183 songs ! This shows how much they work because they produce their own songs, write the lyrics, and help for the choreography. I cannot even imagine how much work this represent. And Kpop artists, aka Idols, have a lot of reality TV show content, as well as variety shows, interviews, live streams, instagram posts and tiktok to look at. And their fan also create content, Stray Kids fans are called Stays.

Nothing wrong with tricks, the artistry comes in how you use them, the fact that a real artist is making choices about what they do all along. One thing that makes Stray Kids such great artists is that they and their full team are aware of all those techniques, tricks, etc. that are used, and they make fabulous choices about when and where and how often to use any given one. There are some artists that I can't listen to very much because their tricks are by rote, I end up feeling manipulated. With Skz, it's more like they are pulling me a long for the ride. They build a stable structure for their shows and their songs, and then they play within that structure. They enhance or tone down as needed, and like you said, they've built this structure that they can rely on so they can be relaxed and focus on performing, communicating with the audience, and reacting with ad libs or improve without getting trhown off--because they always have that structure to rely on. And they use great support staff and appear to treat them well, with respect and giving credit where it's due. A few years ago, Bang Chan even gave a shout out to the technical staff who work with the nit-picky sound quality issues on their albums during one of his live talks. He said their work wouldn't sound as good without them, but nobody really ever mentions them, so he wanted to thank them. You know when you do things like that, the people around you really want to make sure you succeed and have as easy a time doing your work as possible.

Enjoying your reactions to Stray Kids. Had to chuckle when you said “If I run out of Stray Kids music, I’m screwed,” they have over 200 songs in their discography with an new album dropping in 3 days. You’re not going to run out as long as you’re open to their older content too which had all of these flavours in it from the outset, and don’t mind seeing the evolution of their journey musically and lyrically. You might even see some interesting perspectives other reactors haven’t due to your reaction style and approach. You could choose to go back over their most popular, title tracks and b sides (predebut Hellevator, debut District 9, early VictorySong, Easy, Double Knot, Side Effects, turning point Gods Menu, Thunderous, TOP, Maniac, Venom, Freeze, Get Lit, Hall of Fame, Superbowl) but also some of their more experimental songs (Maze of Memories, Tortoise and the Hare). They’ve also got vocally driven ballads thrown in the mix too (Grow Up, Scars, Voices, Mixtape: OH,Behind the Light, #LoveStay, 24 to 25, Winter Falls, Youtiful). Lots of choice!

It was funny when you explained the tricks used for shorter artists while you paused on Hyunjin who is the tallest of the group. But seriously, I hadn’t thought about this until you mentioned it so it was good to know. Thinking about it though and having watched all their dance practices I suspect that this trick is not used very much, imo the placement of each artist is based on who is going to sing next so that they can easily be in the centre when it’s their moment. Because they can all dance very well it is easy for them to place themselves at the closest spot to the centre for their solo part. Also, Hyunjin who is the tallest one is usually at the front centre because he is one of the main dancer. Bang Chan (Chris) the leader is one of the shortest but is usually at the back because he likes to let his boys shine at the front. So I don’t think the trick you mentioned applies to Stray Kids. Loved your reaction and I hope you do more. Their new album is coming out on the 10th but if you want you can start at their beginning in 2018 with their pre-debut “Hellevator” and debut “District 9” where most were still teenagers and go from there. We also love to see reactions of their official mv followed with their dance practice of that same song. They’re not just dancing, each formation and move describes the song. At some point, if you’re really into Stray Kids please watch the 2023 guide that introduces each member. It is an hour long but we will watch it with you. Thank you!

Re: levels and the command of the stage - I was pretty much awestruck by Hyunjin’s stage presence during the dance break, and that’s not an accident; the moment at about 6:40 is so cool to me, where everyone else is sort of ducking just below his arm height and it really does make his literal reach look just massive

Maybe you could react to the music video of the Title Track of the album. It is called La la la, the teaser is insane it's a new genre that Stray Kids is trying and it is super fun I really cannot wait to listen to all the songs.

Stray Kids have released four studio albums (three Korean and one Japanese), four compilation albums, one reissue, twelve extended plays or mini albums (nine Korean and three Japanese), two single albums, and twenty-nine singles and another mini album is coming out this week (which is what this song is from) so it is actually takes effort to run out of Skz music. In fact they released 4 albums this year alone. Now let's add all the fun award shows which always have a new version of the TT and there is even more. Oh I almost forgot about the songs from Skz record, which are original songs that just get released on KZbin instead of the albums and the skz player that are the covers released on YT. To that you can also add all the other content to watch. There 3-4 live music shows per week and variety content usually released for each comeback and then the BTS plus unveils for each album. The holiday specials, the concert videos, skz talker, skz code (their own variety show), 2 kids rooms and so much more. We are a very very well fed fandom so don't worry about running out of things... because all of that doesn't even count the tons of content created by Stays themselves.

It makes me so sad that Stray Kids aren't massively popular in Korea. They're so popular internationally, but in Korea they aren't seen as "general public friendly" because they're so experimenral and are quite marmite, you either love them or hate them! They have so much technical skill, both in performing and in writing, composing, and producing their own music, I wish they were more appreciated in their home country

am backtracking through my subbed channels to see the reactions to these stages (since the album just dropped, I didn't want to spoil myself). Really enjoying how much you're enjoying SKZ! If I could make any sort of suggestion (and this could just be on my end) the audio to the original video is a bit low, and while I understand your hype when watching them, you tend to shake the camera and frankly it makes me motion sick where I can't watch you at all and have to just stare at the video (of SKZ) itself haha. I love all of your insight though, so hopefully you're not offended by my saying something. Again, it could just be a "me" problem, but figured I'd at least make you aware.
