The fact that he/she doesn't fly away at Donna's approach tells something is not right. The owl needs help. That's what Donna does: helping the helpless. Her work is meaningful, her heart is noble.

I googled torticollis (as was mentioned in the description) and it is a wrenched neck muscle that is tight, it varies in severity, can be helped with treatment and may be cured. So for anyone like me who felt sad for this owl there is a good chance it will get better and be able to be released. I was very relieved that what the owls head and neck were doing wasn't caused by poisoning. Apparently it is usually the result of some type of head trauma. Must be a healthy bird to survive the knock to the head that caused this injury. Praying for a full recovery and release, Dot

Stray Rescue is getting to be the Midwest's answer to Hope for Paws. Like them, this group started out with dogs and a few cats, and now people call them for any animal in need of rescue. I think they are both wonderful.

Thank You for helping ALL ANIMALS. Hopefully this owl survives and can be released back to his habitat. Your rescues of Pitties is great. They are a truly misunderstood breed.

Torticollis - A rare condition in which the neck muscles contract, causing the head to twist to one side. The most common type causes the chin to pull toward the shoulder. The treatment is physical therapy and sometimes surgery.

Thank goodness you spotted her Donna! She probably ran into a window or something and injured her neck muscles. When they cramp up it does this, but I believe they can recover from this condition and be re-wilded after treatment. 😊

They say in the video description they contacted the World Bird Sanctuary to see if they could help. "They immediately knew the bird was suffering from torticollis, which can be caused by trauma or something in the environment and they asked if we could bring the owl to them. The team there was so helpful, went to work on him immediately and promised to do everything they could to help rehabilitate the owl so he could be released back in the wild. They even gave us an I.D. number so we can call for updates and be a part of his release! " Also in the end video pic, it looked as if the owl was able to hold his head upright again❣

No, it's caused by muscle contractions. It can happen in people too, but not as dramatic-looking.

How did this turn out? What happened after you got it in the vehicle? This video is not very satisfying. There wasn't any ending. Nothing portends the future. Is it good or is it an other? Is it...... ?????
