Highest skill ceiling?! Worst character?! Well, maybe, it could be argued she is the worst on PC but she is still fairly decent and can be situationally great. And, power-creep already be creeping : { But definitely not highest skill ceiling, she's relatively simple to learn and with some more practice it just gets easier playing her effectively. Anyhow, this is from my experience ONLY on PC, not sure how it is on other platforms.

@@DumbConstellations "Situationally great" meaning certain moments/matches have to be set in her favor from the start in order for Kendo to even have a chance to reach said greatness, despite there being no guarantee that it will stay that way. Bare in mind she has the worst range in the game, that being shotgun range which can miss sometimes even if you're up close. Her shield can be broken incredibly easily when focused, which happens alot. Since she can't look up while shielding and has a slightly slower turning speed, practically anyone can outmaneuver above or around it with little issue and attack or just stay a safe distance away so she can't clap and just beam her down. I never said she was difficult to use, only that it's hard to get anything done with her when almost the entire roster can do her job and more with an easier time. That's not even mentioning the current meta of spamming stuns and AOE, which in itself is something Kendo can't survive for very long. TL;DR Kendo is objectively the worst character in the game, not because she's bad or hard to play, but because the game/meta as it is, does not give much reward for her primarily single target, defensive kit

Not really. Her gamma had mad burst on it at all levels so its optional to max it but alpha is better in my opinion

@@BigFistProTTV gamma have a extremely tiny hitbox at low levels, it's basically useles, and at high levels it has a very Big and sometimes disjointed hitbox, and being her move with armor, i don't think it needs more explanations

Great video Stray! Some improvements that I think can work, you REALLY dont need to level up the Alpha or Beta to max, its just nice to have them. Level 9 Gamma on Kendo is such an easy no brainer for both her movement and her crazy damage. If you manage both her shield and rocks properly, you'll almost never actually run out of them.

12:30 Ibara’s alpha, Denki’s Beta, Dabi’s gamma can all penetrate Kendo’s shield. Personally I go lvl4 gamma > lvl4 alpha, then max one of them (usually gamma 9/10). I used to do my beta when I was first starting out but the more experience I had the less often I was using her shield.

Hey stray, I noticed it a few times in your first game but there's a glitch where if a move hits your shield in the midde of your alpha glides, it'll force your apha into cooldown regardless of how many bullets you had

I play more of a defensive style Kendo. I max gamma first then Beta then Alpha. I mainly use Aplha for the chip damage or the Aplha glide. I use her shield a ton and have been in many situations where if it isn’t at least lvl 4 it’s going to break fast. Even if at lvl 4 and the whole team focuses you, your shield can be gone in like 3 sec.

As one of if not THE top Kendo on switch i will share some wisdom. Kendos alpha is prob her best move. It had mad combo potential so maxing it first is a must I usually don't level my beta too much as i play more aggressively and dont use it as a shield so much as for alpha gliding Kendos gamma is very strong however its combo potential is pretty low because of its knockdown i usually get it to 4 before maxing alpha but if i wanna play more around my alpha i max it after alpha. Also make sure to use blue cards alot as her air melee works well with them and blue cards are basically part of her kit for kendo mains ABUSE HER COMBOS!!! Kendo has the best combos in the game so try to go for them rather than spamming alphas and gammas Practice fighting alot. Sometimes ill run a game where i just do nothing but fight. Its good practice for learning more advanced combos and its just kinda fun. Have fun!!! Kendo is the BEST character in the game no matter what anyone says! So have fun and play around with tech and combos alot. Hope this helped anyone aspiring to play kendo. Keep in mind that kendo takes alot of time and skill to play. She was my first main so it may take a while to adjust to her play style especially if you play rapid or stike characters.
